Is it as ineffective as the other so called vaccines

No, I believe it is MORE ineffective on Japanese people as the other ones!

@Christopher Mas Osan

I have read this book. The evidence that foul play is is at best circumstantial.

> All leads point to accidental drowning.

> "Tiphaine Where Are You?"

If you really had read the book, that would not be your conclusion. The fact that she was still on her phone, researching her itinerary for the day, in her room when her phone suddenly stopped does not point to a drowning...

Why on earth would you even bring this up, especially during the interview? This is his private life and completely irrelevant to his job...

As pointed out by someone else, either you want to keep it private and you don't tell it to anyone, or you just tell people and that's it....He put himself in this situation himself...

@TaiwanIsNotChina,

100% wrong, see this link: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2016/11/03/500549503/male-birth-control-study-killed-after-men-complain-about-side-effects

There is also the best contraceptive ever with no side effect and it even prevents STD. It's also very cheap. Condoms.

If you are interested to know a woman's perspective, I recommend this article: https://designmom.com/twitter-thread-abortion/

Or we could just have contraceptive pills for men. Oh wait, this has already been considered and studies done showed there were side effects... Much less than for women contraceptive pills though but hey let's have women carry all the burden for contraception, including health risk.

This Kyoto people just like complaining...

First there were too many tourists.

Then during Covidz they complained about the lack of tourists.

Recently they complained about the bus being too crowded and wanting to have more expensive bus fare for non-residents.

Now this...

Next article will be about tourists snoring too loudly so they want to build hotels outside of the city...

To all men here saying having a biological man in womens toilet is fine because there are individual cubicles.

90% of sexual assaults complaints happen in "unisex" facilities. UK statistics that you can find here: https://fairplayforwomen.com/unisex-changing-rooms-put-women-in-danger/

This is why single sex spaces exist. This is to protect girls and women from voyeurs, assaults at a time when they are vulnerable.

Sure women are not naked in toilets, but they can be alone there are vulnerable: they might be having heavy period, cramps, miscarriage, or simply stain their clothes and try to wash it away.

Some women and girls also enter toilets to escape annoying men.

It is a safe space. At least it was until this ruling.

Posted in: G7 vows to narrow gender economic gaps See in context

To me, the problem is that society expects us (men and women) to work (at least) 8h/day and then also take care of the house, the kids, ourselves and sleep. This is not possible. So either rich people outsource everything they can (housekeeper, nanny) or someone works less and this is usually the mother.

Biologically, women carry babies and feed them during their first year so it's impossible to have a career with this kind of society if you do this, especially if you have more than 1 kid.

We should aim to have everybody (men and women) work less and spend the additional time they have making things (instead of buying them) and spend some time with other people.

The question here is: how does Australia define "hate speech"?

Because before Elon Musk took over Twitter, people got banned just for saying that "women have no pen*" and for so called "misgendering" which is actually correctly sexing.

It would be interesting to know if Tokyo has the biggest number because that is statistically where there are more nurseries/daycare or if there are other reasons.

I noticed most of the daycares in Tokyo don't have a playground so children will stay inside (sometimes in small areas) all day long, especially if the weather is bad. If you imagine a group of 20 kids or more inside the whole day, this would drive everybody crazy, both kids and teachers....

They know what should be done if they want people to consider having (more) kids:

Ensure a proper work-life balance for all employees

Ensure decent wages for all employees

Stop useless stuff like PTA, forced club activities, or any mandatory activities for both parents and children

Free education and healthcare for pregnant women and all children

Ban Juku

Change the education system to make it more interesting and stop the stressful exams starting when kids are 12 until they are at University

Anything else?

The Japanese government will aid fishermen through a new 50 billion yen in addition to a previously announced 30 billion yen fund, so they can deal with reputational damage and continue fishing.

Why invest this money in this fishing industry, they should help them transition to another job. As pointed by others here, most of the people worry about the health risks and won't buy Fukushima or Fukushima adjacent products (fish, meat or fruits or vegetables).

@girl_in_tokyo,

Since you are so knowledgeable, pleas enlighten me as to what is gender identity?

Gender are stereotypes that not everyone adheres to and that are different on each society e.g women wear dresses, have long hair etc.

And yes, people are chopping off their healthy body parts to change sex, look it up.

@tokyo-m

And then suddenly you get male rapists in women's prisons, men in women's changing rooms, women's voices drowned out, and the media and the elites telling people to ignore the facts of science, the wisdom of history, and the evidence of their own eyes and hearts.

> The fact is, men can not be women, women can not be men, and the the gender you have is the gender you were born with.

Thank you, and this is crazy that we have to repeat this over and over.

Humans cannot change sex!

You can wear whatever you want, feel whatever you want, just respect same sex spaces and stop womanfacing.

Posted in: High school student excluded from graduation ceremony for cornrow hairstyle See in context

The school is 100% wrong but I wonder why the student didn't check with the school before if this was OK?

We don't have the details but I assume it was the 1st time he was doing this hairstyle as he explained he did some research and asked his dad about it. So he could have shown a picture and explained what he wanted to do?

Of course, he should never have to do this in the first place but we also know this is Japan and there are so many stupid rules that it's better to check when you are among the 2% foreigners .

I had many discussions on any topic with daycare and schools as our kids have different clothes, hair, eating habits, bento box, shoes, pen, school bag and so on....We usually come to an understanding when both sides explain the reasons behind.

Yes it takes time, and no we should not have to do it but it also helps to understand each other.

What strikes me the most in these kind of cases, is that it's always boys. I can understand as you can clearly see a difference of behaviour between girls and boys, even from a young age: Girls respect more rules and are more fearful of dangers. Boys are reckless and do not obey the rules.

Definitely be even more careful if you have boys

This must baffle scientists as as the rampant cesium and strontium have half lives of over 30 years and plutonium 1000 years. Also the 30+ other iodizing radionuclides have very long half lives. Last time I went a couple of years ago, the radiation levels were six acceptable levels and that was about 10-15km from the closed zone.

Very sensible comment, thank you!

Posted in: Japan egg prices soar amid record 16 mil bird flu cullings See in context

@Commanteer:

To me, it's poor judgment to buy low quality eggs just to save 30 yen or so.

I am afraid you failed to consider that family means several people and that they cannot just eat 1 egg per day.

If you apply the same logic to all products and multiply by the number of meals and multiply by the number of people, the difference becomes huge. 30 yen more here in your example means 30% more on a family budget.

Let's say the family spend 100,000/month, that means their new budget will be 130,000. A lot of families cannot afford this, or this means less activities for children or less travel or something.

No, not every school requires it. Parents can definitely opt out of it but as many "traditions" here and with herd mentality, most parents spend this ridiculous amount of money on an uncomfortable, non ergonomic and heavy backpack.
