A vile trade that needs to be consigned to history.

Despicable and uncivilised animal cruelty.

Anyone that would stoop so low as to eat man's best friend needs to check their morals. Animal rights groups worldwide should expose South Korea's vile trade.

Reading the article made me feel ill.

This barbaric practice should be stopped immediately.

As Fighto! says, you simply do not eat your best friend.

Emotional argument.

I’ve heard it argued that throughout history, horses have done more than any other animal to help us build our civilizations.

Okay with eating these noble creatures?

I’m a huge dog lover and never on the menu, by the way.

That is a fair argument. I may be wrong, but horses eaten are not caged, farmed and treated shockingly like these poor dogs. They are ex racehorses who have lived a great, active lifestyle and have eventually been euthanised (many before their time should be up, I'd concede).

But the treatment of these dogs is abhorrent and sick.

I cannot come to terms with that even if there is no reason not to. Different cultures eat different animals. But for me no whales, dogs, cats, rats, snakes, dolphins, horses, or swans.

Dogs are pets throughout most of the civilized world. Eating dogs is an absolutely disgusting tradition and should be terminated by the South Korean government with very hefty fines.

The photos, the conditions are the very definition of animal cruelty.

It is akin to a canine alternative Sweeny Todd.

Luna. Daisy. Duke and Rocky served up for lunch at Mrs. Lovett's pie shop.

I have devoured horse meat in France once, Foie gras, much to my shame enjoyed it, now genuinely repentful

However to imagine my wonderful Soy or Bailey served up to me in a stew, a bourguignon or stroganoff is like eating a loved one.

Absolutely vile and disgusting. The first and simple step is to make it illegal but the gov't of Korea and others countries that eat dog cowardly refuse to even when it has drastically dropped in popularity. The rest of the Korean population staying silent can be seen as taciturn support for this continuing. A gutsy reporter should ask members of BTS and Black Pink what they think of this practice and what they're doing to stop it.

There's increasing public awareness of animal rights

Except for cows pigs cats and chickens.

Next people will be wanting to ban whaling (again)

What has popularity got to do with whether people be banned from doing something?

Are you a vegan perhaps? If not, you would strike one as a hypocrite
