Cardi B is a lip-synching vulgar spoiled prissy-miss stuck-up dirty diva phony. She's known for vile junk like 'WAP' (don't ask). A 21st century Madonna wannabe who pretends to be 'ghetto'.

She won't be remembered in 30 years anyway. Nonetheless, whoever pays (astronomical) ticket prices to see a fraud like this has ROX in the head.

Moreover, most convenience stores have little plastic boxes that you can simply toss unwanted receipts into right at the register. A majority of 7-Eleven stores take this one step further and have the register automatically spit out the receipt, leaving it up to the customer if they want to take it, and letting it fall into a plastic bin if they don’t. In this way, getting an unwanted receipt is hardly a headache for customers these days.

And on top of all that, it’s becoming increasingly common for convenience stores to print coupons for other items onto receipts.

Absolutely ridiculous, and even a little laughable. The clerk could've just tossed the receipt in a recycler, yet some receipts also have coupons and discounts for the 'next time'.

And it came to blows, over this! DUMB on both parties' part.

ClippetyClopAug. 2  07:42 am JST

The Voyager missions cost less than a billion dollars. Voyager 2 is still the only spacecraft to visit Uranus and Neptune.

Voyager 1 still has another 25,000 years before it leaves our solar system, and it’s signal strength upon reaching earth is a billionth of a billionth of one watt.

The Voyager program has fascinated me since it was launched when I was a kid in 1977. One of mankind’s most imaginative and brilliant projects.

Good ol' Voyager 2. When it visited Jupiter in 1979 and discovered volcanic activity on its moon Io, I saw a picture in a National Geographic article of this young lady NASA scientist smiling and pointing to the image on her Apple computer screen. I saw right then with her to be working for NASA that she had a degree and was smart. I wanted to marry her, I was 13 years old.

Voyager 2 visited Saturn in 1981 and we learned more about that planet than ever in history. The Moody Blues had a #1 album with 'Long Distance Voyager' and a local DJ quipped by saying ;Long Distance Voyager 2'. Uh-huh.

It visited planet Uranus in early 1986, when Comet Halley was also competing for attention. The planet name's pronunciation is the subject of childish jokes in the English language and during that time I saw ads in magazines to join the 'Up Uranus Club' complete with T-shirts depicting a middle finger holding the planet on it.

In 1989 it visited Neptune and I was in college. As a student I got to see live NASA coverage from the proble on an array of Apple computers, a setup we now call an intranet. A few years later, these intranets would be combined into what we now know as the internet. History in the making of space exploration and information science at the same time!

I have a BA degree in Computer and Science from that university and that's how I know.

And on the side, that's also how I knew about trump sassing off his motormouth about Hillary Clinton's emails in 2016 was totally bogus, just like he is. He didn't put up or shut up. Of course he certainly can't do the latter, can he?

Voyager 2 has marked some very important milestones in scientific progress history, mankind's history and mine.

virusrexAug. 2  09:02 am JST

The North Atlantic has become an emblematic observation point for the warming of seawater worldwide due to the effects of climate change caused by greenhouse gas emissions.

No excuses, no misleading comment can ignore this clear conclusion, the extremes in temperature being recorded are not something cyclic, natural or benign. They are caused by human derived climate change and will have serious consequences.

Blindly calling this justified warning "fearmongering" is the favorite tool of antiscientific groups that want other people to be in denial of reality.

It's been forecast since at least 1990 and nobody seems to give a damn.

trump: 'Climate change, it's a myth! Bluuughhhh!!!!!'.

Pvt. 2nd Class is not a high rank in the US Army and he probably doesn't have much if any security clearance or information that would be of benefit to NK. He would've certainly faced military discipline, possibly even a court-martial (assault is a serious offense in the service, locally and overseas) and while he thinks he 'escapes' all that justice for violating the UCMJ; he's going to find out real quick that the 'asylum' he fled to is even worse.

Talk about jumping out of a frying pan into a fire. He is going to regret this!

‘Too many perverts in this world who act on vile ways and most of them are no doubt married with children.

All those involved in this filth should hang their heads in shame and start to lead a decent and moral life.

Prostitution is immoral and illegal in most countries even totalitarian ones because those governments want to control everything they can. What kind of man would get into this thing? One who can't be faithful and true to his wife or GF, that's who. A cheat, a cad.

And with prostitution other crimes often come along with it. It cheapens sex. It's a bad away all around.

Posted in: Taylor Swift sets women's record for most number one albums See in context

PaustovskyJuly 18  02:19 pm JST

Madonna has had several #1 singles, a possible woman's record but her music is style over substance. Not worth a damn.

I am guessing your personal dislike of Madonna, the person, is clouding your musical judgement. She was, and remains, the most influential female artist of the last 40 years.

Almost as important as the performing aspect is her business acumen. Her A&R abilities are as good as any music label boss and she pioneered the path now taken by Beyonce and Taylor Swift.

I'm not a fan of any of their music but they are certainly due respect.

She inspired a slew of worthless ditzy dumb sex robot pop tarts, some are here today and gone tomorrow. All videogenic sex appeal, no real talent or anything to say. Hillary Duff, anyone? Famous for her namesake, later got sleazy and skanky on video like nearly all of them do. Sex appeal and that's it, some of it quite raunchy. And Madonna led the way to it all. The best women rockers (Heart, GoGos, Bangles, Jett, Shonen Knife, etc.) are the ones who don't push the sexual angle. And they keep their private lives out of the spotlight. I don't want to know anyway.

Nile Rodgers himself explained that most of her vocals on the 'Like a Virgin' album were done with studio tape manipulations and he really didn't like the product. It's a job, you don't to like everything you do in a job.

For many younger people, she's on a similar level as the Beatles or the Stones and her career will be as long and memorable as theirs. Hopefully, she won't become like Aerosmith - over exposed and commercial.

The Beatles and Stones (and Pink Floyd and Beach Boys) came at a time when rock was young. They took the music and lyrical themes out of the high school dance level mindset and into adulthood and the future. Thanks to them rock'n'roll wasn't kid's stuff anymore.

But Springsteen never broke out and had global success or could capture and hold the youth's attention the way Swift and Madonna did, the man caters to a certain demographic and that is not bad for the people that follow the man's music, he is good for what he does and appeals to that certain age group bracket. Personally, I never got into the guy, never liked his songs or voice for that matter, so never knew what the fascination was with the guy during his peak in the mid-80's but again, it might be a more generational thing,

Guess again. The four times I've seen Bruce the crowd has drawn people of all ages and categories you can think of. It certainly is not a 'generational thing' with him. Getting tickets to his shows is a total rat race, it's even tougher than getting access to shows by U2 and the Rolling Stones. Scalper scum are always snatching 'em up. TM likes me because I wrote a review of a 2018 Phil Collins (it was very positive) so I get first dibbs to everything they offer. It's TOUGH for Bruce. By the time my turn in the queue came up there were only individual solo seats left! Each time I saw him was better than previous but getting a ticket was harder than ever! His shows are guaranteed to be sold out.

The Beach Boys still have sold out shows, drawing in the whole spectrum in their native California. Everybody knows that the Rolling Stones will sell out their gigs. So does Springsteen and McCartney too.

These are giants with careers of 50-60 years. Will Taylor Swift be around and that popular in 50 years? I doubt it.

*"The scarcity of female engineers is absolutely unnatural when you consider that women account for half of society," said Mitsubishi Heavy human resources official Minoru Taniura.*

The scarcity of female engineers seems rather natural to me when, only 30 years ago, companies like Mitsubishi Heavy would not hire women for career-track jobs because those companies felt women were more likely to quit working after having children.

Taniura-san obviously doesn’t know the company history!

It seems to be that way all over. Smart women are often disrespected because some males just can't take it. Look at the recent example of Donald Trump. He always sasses off his big mouth to women. He did it to women in Congress, women news reporters, women in any occupation that requires a brain. Sass sass sass sass SASS! Never mind what he says about them in other regards.

And there's other ill-mannered sexist pukes like him in every profession. The astronomer who discovered the first solar system beyond our own back in 1991 got the boot because he was always degrading and even harassing women astronomers.

And in my hometown a woman car mechanic at a local body shop was somehow 'let go' or vanished because she did a better job than the rest of them. They just couldn't handle her around!

That doesn't necessarily mean than an artist is good. Or bad either if you want to look at the other side of the coin. Madonna has had several #1 singles, a possible woman's record but her music is style over substance. Not worth a damn.

Bruce Springsteen may hold the record of most #1 albums by a male solo artist. Every album he's put out since 1980 has hit #1 with a couple of exceptions.

With streaming and radio being so restricted, charts don't mean anything. Not necessarily what people want to hear.

Being in the USA no doubt the lawyers are circling and preparing to sue the surgeon who carried out the bariatric surgery.

There may be a statute of limitations on that.

EFDToday  08:58 am JST

The report says the complication that Presley experienced is a common complication from bariatric surgery, which is a weight loss procedure. The Mayo Clinic says it is often done when other weight loss methods haven't worked or if a person has a serious medical condition.

Unless the heirs can prove the procedure was not called for, (due to it not being a last resort perhaps?) I don’t see a cause of action. It was a known complication. It’s literally a $h!t happens kind of thing.

> wallaceToday  09:08 am JST

Lisa-Marie Presley did not need the bariatric surgery just looking at photos of her. She did not need to lose weight.

I agree. She looked fine. But women are pressured early in life to look thin, some get to the point of anorexa nervosa and/or unnecessary surgeries. And some surgeons just LOVE the money they get from it.

It's the same way with her mother Prissila. She used to look good for her age but she went to Polynesia to get a face lift procedure that isn't practiced in North America. It was a botch job, she now looks like a 'fish face'. Sad.
