Makes sense. Ryukyu is more closely related to Taiwan than mainland Japan. Taiwanese lumber, like its semiconductors, is superior to the Japanese counterpart. Taiwan is also financially better off than Japan. It's nice they are helping their little brother to the north out. Tokyo sure isn't helping Okinawa at all.

China is itching to donate too... but of course Chinese timber is inferior and likely espionage devices implanted haha!

Actually nothing is "changing" as Taiwan donated lumber back in the early 90's for the previous rebuilding of the castle.

When japan is forced to attack China, 

Japan is prohibited from "attacking" another country by the first paragraph of Article 9.

China is the only country that continues to threaten to attack Taiwan.
