Posted in: Japan issues heatstroke alerts as temperatures soar See in context

High School girls lacrosse competition in my local park in Osaka yesterday and today. Players aren't masked but the officials and many sideline parents are. They're playing on a hard sand surface in the boiling sun. Common sense would recommend they play in the early evening under lights but you know this Japan so...

We had some lotus flowers similar to this one in our local park a few weeks ago. Sadly someone cut and stole them during the night. Happens frequently at our park. Sunflowers have disappeared over the weekend too.

Sorry to see and hope the locals didn't suffer too much damage. That's going to push the price of produce up from that region.

Awful story and yes, why the 4 hour delay in police attending?

I saw the story on the TV news tonight and have to concur with @MarcLowe the neighborhood where this lady resided looked extremely run down and poor , rusty buildings and weeds everywhere.
