Let’s be 100% clear here.

The kidz are all out in the gravel, shade less, school sports grounds all day, during the intense midday heat as well. They die of heat exhaustion regularly but I haven’t seen any shade or time altering.

In other news Japan unknowingly contribute to each Koreas average step count and thus heart health.

Fist pumps can promote better circulation, and enjoying activities in a group setting has its benefits as well. The folks in the middle are having fun tearing up a very large sheet.

The same inept people that can’t see a crisis (or the need for security) until its too late, are the ones thinking up genius schemes like this?

This sounds like mass, uncoordinated “intelligence” gathering. Perhaps someone needs a cushy job till they retire?

Actually sit, no we Japanese do not have these traits.

I think its a virtue that people here like to prode themselves on, but I feel liie we are some the biggest blame-passing, and definitely lacking responsibility as a society.

Bowing and mumbling apologises is not appropriate nor is it adequate.

Posted in: Heavy rain pounds Japan, prompting evacuation alerts, flood warnings See in context

Seems like whenever the trains go down due to floods or even an earthquake, everyone is totally left at the mercy of cab companies.

Theres no diversion of buses or any other city services to get stranded people back and forth.

Alot of people dropped off their kidz in school, went to work, and couldn’t get home.

imo yesterday people should have been warned to not go to work or take the trains in certain areas.

Just look at this well funded and professional victims event. Seems like the whole nation now is still suffering the same injustices their great grandparents suffered under Japans colonization.

Posted in: VR tour peers into Hiroshima's past See in context

As we are the only nation to have been nuked, its a responsibility and opportunity to show others the horrors of nuclear bombs.

While being the victim of the bombing, the circumstances also had a lot to do with Japan’s military leadership who killed their own people, slaughtered other Asians, and tried (like the west succeeded in) to colonize their neighbors.

The result was the worlds two most powerful nations trying to annihilate Japan at the exact same time.

Posted in: At Hiroshima G7, atomic bomb survivors grapple with a disarmament dream deferred See in context

As a Japanese I kinda feel like this notion where the media always paints Japan as this nation longing for a nuclear free world is pretty naive.

All the worlds most powerful and warring nations have nukes. They also spend enormous amounts of developing even more advanced weaponry to kill more people even more precisey and quickly.

On what planet can anyone realistically expect everyone to disarm? Not this one!

Agreed, I have no problem with the death penalty. But he will suffer more with life imprisonment.

If you beat a teenage lady to death, you deserve a vicious beating to death yourself by another man.
