We'll be traveling from the air-conditioned living room to the air-conditioned bedroom and back, throughput the summer. Once the weather cools down in autumn, we'll consider traveling outside the house again.
I will travel from my arm chair to the fridge for beers. Then a cruise to cupboard for chips or popcorn. Then fly back to the chair for Orioles games or movies.
Mostly just staying home with the aircon, or hitting the besso up at Biwako (also with aircon). Cinema, restaurants/cafes, short walks with the dogs in the local woods/mountains. It's too hot for much else.
both Japan and abroad/thanks to reasonable ticket prices from JAL/
@Eastman - Okay. What is a "reasonable" JAL ticket price for you? I'm going abroad, but I was just barely able to afford it, no thanks to JAL. If any thanks, it would be to "Uncle Sam" for relief payments from years ago. It was from a non-Japanese airline (not a US carrier). Otherwise, I would just stay in Japan. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned the weak Japanese yen, which has also made it challenging to enjoy vacations abroad.
With the yen the way it is, and showing no signs of a reversal, I'd be really cheating myself trying to go back to the States. Still going to enjoy myself here though!
I'll be staying in Japan. Too much music going on. The music scene in Tokyo is so amazing compared to lesser markets like Britain and the UK. Besides composing and performing my countless albums, I enjoy watching Japanese artists perform, too. There are some great avant-garde electronic improv vocalists in Tokyo and Kanto Region.
To me it's a funny question. I picked 'abroad' because I live in Canada and I'm flying to Japan in October for what will be a month of fun and frivolity.
I have many places I want to go to In Japan, and I really want to go. However, I'm just not motivated enough to even try to make a plan. It's not a priority. There may be many other people like me who have been planted in their homes doing remote work for the past few years. Or have gotten comfortable staying home doing indoor activities. Content with staying local and shopping and eating out within their area. I spend more now within the surrounding area of city and those within a 30-minute drive. On the other hand, reading all these posts are slowly inspiring me to venture out.
Staying in Japan, taking it easy and doing whatever I can on the cheap (bicycle ride along the Izu coastline, local summer festival, fireworks in Atami etc).

I'll take a couple of small day trips, but I don't consider that really going anywhere.

Right? What music artists ever came out of the UK anyway? I can probably count all of them on one calculator.

Tickets back home are 30 man yen. I may as well just stay and work.

Both within Japan and abroad.
The poll only lets you choose one answer, though. As if it's not possible to do both.

Staying in Japan unfortunately, but I have a nice balcony to sun it up.
Enjoy your holidays mates !

Heat: there are destinations like Hokkaido and cosy mountainside inns in the shades of chilly woods beside chilly lakes and waterfalls :)
Economy: there should be some cheaper choices to enjoy yourself, Im almost sure about that :)Seigi
Both... abroad and within Japan.

For the first time in a non-Covid year we are NOT going to visit family in Japan. Tickets are up the ass right now.
Just got back from an epic road trip around California instead. Everyone needs to get into Yosemite Valley at least once in their lives. Holy crap.

Given the current weather, I wish I was going abroad for the next 2 months!

Both. A long overdue trip home and another to a beach in Chiba for a few days.

The downvotes are just because you are a total tool @Eastman - and the silly comment about JAL being reasonable
Eastman
i dont get why downvotes above?
