Yes, looks like a voluntarily assembled group of citizens there.

Nothing motivates a good march like a bayonet in your back...

I would march, too, if it meant getting some food and not being shot.

Have you ever thought the citizens are happy? Or just assuming they want to be more like the west?

The BBC had a story that the people they contact there say they are starving to death:

Considering the US killed 20% of the population, it is hardly surprising that they feel rather anti-American.

I doubt it.

Every country like NK makes sure their happy citizens never leave the country. Its a punishable offense to have any kind of talk with individuals abroad. In 2023. Are we still having this conversation?

Perhaps the North shouldn't start a war next time. South Korea also lost a million people.

I watched the BBC Worl News program about Inside Korea. Watch it.

Brainwashed, forced at gunpoint, or bribed with food for their families.

So a handful of people are starving, that means the whole population is? Every country has citizens that go hungry everyday.

There is a difference between going hungry and actually starving. And what does this say that this appears to be the average person in North Korea that is going hungry?

11 ( +12 / -1 )

The relation between US & North Korea is like : Young David confront Goliath !

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

I wonder if there's a man with a gun over there telling them they got to beware.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

It’s either that or be shot, I can’t say I blame them.

11 ( +12 / -1 )

I guess it's good that they get enough food and nourishment to be able to march.

How many posters have actually been there? My NK visa was declined at the Chinese border because my home address is in Japan. At least I tried.

USA can’t accept it lost the war…last century.

How many posters have actually been there?

I've never been there myself and haven't really considered visiting since I'm not convinced about how much I'd enjoy it. Perhaps you know how I might get in touch with Kenneth Bae or Otto Warmbier so I can ask them how their trips turned out before I decide. Hope you have better luck next time if you decide to try again to visit!

USA can’t accept it lost the war…last century.

Because it didn't lose the Korean conflict. An armistice was signed by both sides to end a drawn out conflict from happening as neither side could see a path for a quick victory. Technically they remain at war. So please tell me just how the US lost a war that technically has never ended?

There are signs that Kim is preparing to further flaunt his military might

Don't make me laugh. Their Mig-15s?

Their Soldiers who spend most of the year farming instead of training?

Their missiles that don't work?

Talk about a Poltemkin village.... It's a Poltemkin country.

I saw the BBC documentary. The famine is back and people are dying of it.

The difference between now and the "arduous march" is that at that time, state control disappeared and people could smugggle, or buy food. Now they cannot and....

Even people in the captial are experiencing malnuturition which was not the case before.

All the while fat boy weighs in at 140kg on a 170 CM frame.

I don't care who brainwashed one is, when your kids are hungry and the leader is morbidly obese, it makes you wonder what the country's priorities really are.

And moreover,

The money that the DORKs are spending on missile and nukes is more than enough to purchase all the food it needs to feed its population on the international markets.

It just doesn't.

Because the state doesn't care.

Considering the US killed 20% of the population, it is hardly surprising that they feel rather anti-American.

Quite amazing that this verifiable lie remains on the pages of JT where it only serves to influence those too lazy to do a simple Google search of the Korean conflict.

But seeing how that probably won't happen, here are some facts for the uninitiated;

The best estimate of Koreans killed in the conflict is somewhere around 10% of the prewar population. Killed mostly by their own fellow Koreans communists and Chinese allies (mostly civilians) and then the soldiers killed by UN forces including the US, Great Britain, Canada, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Colombia, Ethiopia, South Africa, New Zealand, Türkiye, Greece, Thailand, Philippines and Luxembourg. All of whom sent fighting units.

Now imagine for a second, the 100s of thousands on the South part of the peninsula who were saved from death or perhaps worse, a short lifetime of unimaginable toil and hardship had they been taken over by the North.

Every country should/ does have something to be proud about. Unfortunately for North Korea, there is nothing and one only needs to compare it to the South. Maybe they should stop giving the US so much attention, I’m sure the US is flattered.

Makes me feel sad seeing how some people in the world are forced to live like this. Forced to obey a beastly leader or be sent to a camp or even killed. They live in lifelong poverty relative to most in this world whilst the top dogs love lives of luxury.

How many posters have actually been there? My NK visa was declined at the Chinese border because my home address is in Japan. At least I tried.

I didnt have any problems entering into NK by plane while living in Osaka.

They are either suspicious of foreigners showing up by train or they probably just dont want you there

A couple things to consider.

North Korea started the war by invading South Korea. Fact.

The way the US conducted the war, intentionally targeting population centers for aerial bombing, for years, was a bad decision. In hindsight, it was a serious mistake, for both military and humanitarian reasons.

You have to have been at war to criticize how a war was conducted. I'm sure it was not easy to fight the PLA to a standstill.

Considering even some of the generals seem to be starving, I'm not sure who actually gets the life of luxury there.

USA can’t accept it lost the war…last century.

Because it was a win. Status quo after being invaded is a clear win.

@ Babe Ruth

So Wikipedia is your only source of information? How about checking the Korean census reports from the time.

@HelloKitty

So now you admit its wasn't all of Korea but now its 20% of North Korea.

You obviously missed this little nugget as well:

In the absence of reliable statistics from North Korea, estimates of war losses on the northern side have varied widely, ranging from 1 million to 2.5 million, and the distribution has remained uncertain between military and civilian killed, and those who fled to the South.

Might be 20%, might be 5%. We don't know. Oh yeah, many of those may have simply fled the North and escaped to the South...

This is what happens when you have a blind hatred for something or someone.

You end up making outrageous statements that don't reflect kindly on yourself.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Poor brainwashed fools.

Millions of North Koreans are starving to death - and the Kim Royalty- not short of any food themselves- send out this vaudeville show against "US imperialism".

The sooner Little Rocket Man, his sister and all other fellow NK royals are put against a wall, the sooner the North Koreans can begin their recovery.
