Please let this madness stop soon

I hope it stops too, but it won't stop until the little madman in Moscow has had enough or is put down.

Mr Zelensky has been scolded by both the US and the U.K. for being ungrateful for the help he has been given. Apparently the Ukrainians hand over shopping lists of wants and expect immediate delivery.

Talks need to happen quickly before more chaos ensues.

And the irony that you are making this statement on an article calling out Russian warcrimes just completely escapes you, huh? What makes you think a warcriming state will stick to any agreement?

Taiwan

Just stating facts my dear fellow, all correct and verified by multiple sources..

-19 ( +5 / -24 )

Speaking to reporters in televised remarks from Moscow. Putin reaffirmed that supplies of Western weapons to Ukraine wouldn't change the course of the conflict. He said that Western missiles “do inflict some damage but nothing critical is happening” for the Russian forces.

For a Russian television audience, he’s putting on a brave face. The admission of the damage is unlike him though. Privately he might just be pooping himself.

10 ( +16 / -6 )

If the Ukrainian and Russians want to battle then so be it.

The Ukrainians didn’t ask for this invasion. Their choices are to fight or surrender, and they are choosing to fight for their homeland, just as you or I would do if our country were invaded.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

Head of Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin is likely either dead or jailed, and his much-publicized meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin after his botched rebellion was probably faked, according to a former senior US military leader, Retired Gen. Robert Abrams.

7 ( +13 / -6 )

However why your challenging my not wanting anymore innocent civilians to be harmed is baffling.

Nobody wants civilians to be harmed. That should go without saying.

I mean honestly if you give up your ways and means to defend yourself you might as well expect to perish or get conquered

That was a generation ago. Times change. Also, this looks like victim-blaming.

5 ( +11 / -6 )

The Ukrainians and her allies aren’t going to let Russia conquer Ukraine. Simple as. Happy to keep explaining this to you.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

Putin has arrested top-level military officials.

10 ( +15 / -5 )

why your challenging my not wanting anymore innocent civilians to be harmed is baffling.

Why you imagine no more innocent civilians will be harmed if russia is allowed to prevail (which is what happens if Ukraine stops fighting) is truly baffling.

You've seen what happened to civilians in areas occupied by russia.

Mr Zelensky has been scolded by both the US and the U.K. for being ungrateful for the help he has been given.

Slapped down hard and firmly put in his place by Team Nuland, according to this article in the Washington Post:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/07/13/zelensky-ukraine-nato-invitation/

-5 ( +10 / -15 )

It would raise the threat for Russia's security,” Putin said in televised remarks. “It wouldn't increase Ukraine's own security, and, more broadly, would make the world more vulnerable and lead to more tensions on the international arena.

too late Putin, what you feared is becoming a reality and what you dreamed is becoming a nightmare. Russians should do everything they can to remove this dangerous fool from power and seek a peaceful path.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

Well then perhaps you can stop the war.

If I could convince Russia to go home, I certainly would. I can’t.

What I can do is encourage my elected reps to continue our support for Ukraine. I do this frequently. Thankfully, they don’t need much convincing because they know who the aggressor is, unlike some of the folks on this forum.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

Speaking to reporters in televised remarks from Moscow. Putin reaffirmed that supplies of Western weapons to Ukraine wouldn't change the course of the conflict. He said that Western missiles “do inflict some damage but nothing critical is happening” for the Russian forces.

”some damage” includes the sinking of capital ships, the deaths of multiple senior command staff, denial of air superiority, and the decimation of 1/2 or more of Russian armor to the point that the only thing between Wagner rabble and Moscow was 200 km of open highway.

Oh, and the loss of the initiative across the entire front. There’s that as well.

So, “some” damage…

5 ( +12 / -7 )

Let's stop nit-picking Zelenskyy, and instead put all the focus on the one man whose death would not be too high a price to pay to stop the atrocity of all this wanton bloodshedding.

4 ( +11 / -7 )

Jack Burton: Lets be realistic and consider who would take Putins place as leadership and what that would entail.

I don't think I've seen someone lobby so hard for appeasement in my life. Does showing strength freighten you or something?

6 ( +13 / -7 )

PUTAin as always wants to have it his way!

"“It would raise the threat for Russia's security, It wouldn't increase Ukraine's own security, and, more broadly, would make the world more vulnerable and lead to more tensions on the international arena.”

And as always, the man is wrong! Joining NATO, getting security guarantees from NATO members, and of course the return of all ocuppied areas, all abductees, paying for the war crimes will ensure a stronger Ukraine, thus providing more security to all other EU and NATO member states. Of course the little dictator in Moscow doesn't understand that!

Ukraine prevails!

7 ( +13 / -6 )

Talks need to happen quickly before more chaos ensues.

The fascist Russian scum need to stop bombing a sovereign, independent nation and killing innocent Ukrainians.

Once the Russian dogs are out of Ukraine - entirely - and have ceased the missiles and bombs - talks can commence.

All power to the brave Ukrainians.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

Don't harm anymore innocent civilians and stop the war in Ukraine.

It's at minus thirteen.

There are obviously more people that want the war to continue and Don't care about civilians .

No, there are more people who understand that appeasement will save no innocent lives. The only way to stop the war is to get russian troops out of Ukraine and stop russian missiles and drones attacking Ukrainian cities.

No one wants the war to stop more than the Ukrainians.

If downvotes upset you, maybe try not pushing so hard for appeasement/capitulation.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

glad to see you that ukrainian rockets NEVER kill russian civilians, even today stormshadow kills russian soldiers only, must be really hightech weapon than...a "human" one

btw what have happened to UA spring offensive?

no info about advances and victories for a days no measures in metres or kms?

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

Russian can pound Ukraine indefinitely, since NATO said they could

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

> If you people support Ukraine, why do you go and join the Ukrainain Foreign Legion Bridgade

Seeing as how much you've been supporting fascist Russia for months - why don't you enlist in their military?

The ending would likely be a happy one...for most of us anyway.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

i have heard that russians have no rockets,no tanks/using some from museums/,stealing chips from washing machines.we have found verified info here that russians are at brink of collapse and yes they are fighntning with shovels.

possible proUA propaganda makers went a bit too far as sure they may not have any explanations where these rockets came from?

answer may ..from sky?

read between lines.

UA offensive have died long time ago.there are no UA army advances at all.no victories over russians at all.

UA will be not member of NATO anytime soon.West need UA as proxy war filed against Russia and also need to destroy both UA and EU economies by sending of money, weaponry and with providing proUA media propaganda coverage.

UA have zero chance to win over Russia.no sanctions against Russia brought UA "victory" a step closer.no new weapons from NATO had significant impact on UA progress.even cluster bombs from USA will not help with UA offensives since will cause damage mainly to civilians at BOTH SIDES for years.

still no mood to stop this blooshed?or Raytheon and Boeing still need to make ore fat profit from this conflict?Mr.Austin no comment?

stop money funding of Kiev junta, push them for peace talk and conflict will end in few days.

-6 ( +7 / -13 )

prove one thing i said to try and gain appeasement ?

FYI iam not looking for appeasement !

There are two ways in which this war can end.

Ukraine stops fighting, rolls on its back and lets russia take over all or part of its land. If russia is allowed to keep part of the land, it will regroup and come back for more in a few years' time. Russia will do its best (or its worst) to eliminate all pro-Ukrainian civilians left in the occupied areas.

In the meantime, Ukrainian partisans will work to undermine the occupation in any way they can. Remember Ukrainians can pass as russians, they will be able to wreak havoc in Moscow and St Petersburg just as easily as in occupied Ukraine.

Putin gets kicked out of Ukraine with his tail between his legs and while he's licking his wounds (and probably fighting off an internal coup, staying well away from windows and being careful what he eats and drinks) Ukraine becomes a fully-fledged member of NATO and thus immune to any further attacks from its belligerent neighbour.

The only way to stop further harm to innocent civilians is to defang russia.

5 ( +12 / -7 )

I numbered my points, but JT formatting took it away....

(one) Ukraine stops fighting...

(two) Putin gets kicked...
5 ( +12 / -7 )

Kiev junta

That’s a new one.

Kyiv.

3 ( +12 / -9 )

Jack Burton: FYI iam not looking for appeasement!

The crowd has spoken. If you don't like what we're saying, stop advocating for appeasement. We don't choose your words for you.

4 ( +12 / -8 )

FYI iam not looking for appeasement !

It really does come across that way.

Tell us why what you are advocating for isn’t appeasement.

2 ( +11 / -9 )

Don't harm anymore innocent civilians and stop the war in Ukraine. It's at minus thirteen. There are obviously more people that want the war to continue and Don't care about civilians .

Actually its seems quite a common modus operandi on JT .. a few geniuses , some of whom appear to have multiple accounts, take a dislike to a particular poster due to disagreeing with them on a given topic and then follow the said poster and downvote him/her whenever they have a chance. Quite pathetique behaviour actually.

-7 ( +6 / -13 )

Yet again all missiles were aimed at civilians, all were shot down and not a single Ukrainian fighter or piece of military equipment were even scratched.

I'm sure it must be true.

-7 ( +8 / -15 )

If the Ukrainian and Russians want to battle then so be it.

Leave the civilians out of it.

Stop the ridiculous war in Ukraine.

"I am not a fascist! I merely appease their authoritarian goals in the name of 'peace'."

Because that worked so well in 1939....

And I am sure that if feels very different to the men and women of Ukraine.

-3 ( +5 / -8 )

Mr Kipling

Exactly as you wrote.

Its called a mainstream journalism we must believe in.

No doubts.No hoaxes whatsoever.

No questions to be asked-just to consume any kind of "information" without any critical thinking.

Thinking "hurts" many.Just to consume what is served is more easy.

Many of us knows that reality may be very different as pictured here...often have happened in past.

Sad part of story that civilians must die in name of interests of third party indirectly involved...and this seems to be continued as even Japan going to use our taxes for prolonging of killing of people...

What ol' Jack Burton always saysToday 07:44 am JST

Somebody had his Metamucil this morning and is in a posting mood. Let's take these piles one by one.

Well...the cluster munitions sent from the USA have arrived in Ukraine.

FYI - they are a type of cluster munitions of the air to surface variety otherwise known as (DPICM) DUAL PURPOSE IMPROVED CONVENTIONAL MUNITIONS.

The DPICM can be fired by long-range artillery in 155 mm shells or launched by HIMARS rocket missile systems that Ukraine already has.

The DPICM are bombs and not the same as the incendiary cluster munitions Russia has previously used during the conflict.

Completely irrelevant to this article. I thought you were already on to celebrating tactical nukes anyways.

It appears Russia has announced it will also use similar cluster munitions in retaliation.

Like they had any sort of ethics or compunctions against using them before.

Contrary to what other commenters have said about the possibility of rockets carrying the DPICM's or equivalents it's entirely possible that either Russia or Ukrainian forces might intercept those missiles/rockets and harm innocent civilians .

Lets hope no more innocent civilians need to be harmed or perished unnecessarily.

If the Ukrainian and Russians want to battle then so be it.

Leave the civilians out of it.

Stop the ridiculous war in Ukraine.

You wanted the nukes brought in. You have no serious claim to wanting the conflict to end.

I hope it stops too, but it won't stop until the little madman in Moscow has had enough or is put down.

What ol' Jack Burton always saysToday 08:00 am JST

What makes you think a warcriming state will stick to any agreement?

Sheesh...ahem...not to scoff snort at ya but there's numerous countries or military groups guilty of war crimes that haven't kept thier agreements.

The U.S Military is a prime example of that

Thanks for proving my point as always.

Ukraine is and was corrupt and gave up their nuclear arsenal to Russia so...it was a poor choice and stupendous

I mean honestly if you give up your ways and means to defend yourself you might as well expect to perish or get conquered

Yeah, how dare Ukraine be civilized instead of being a warcriming little s***.

Ukraine then said they wanted to join NATO.

perhaps someone can explain it to you .

Perhaps someone can explain to you want being a responsible country is rather than a country that shamelessly seeks advantage like Russia.

2 ( +9 / -7 )

@RawBeer,

let me just to some (free) editing for you, because ... well, guess what:

*"I hope it stops too, but it won't stop until the little madman in Moscow has had enough or is put down."*

1 ( +8 / -7 )

What ol' Jack Burton always saysToday 08:18 am JST

Because i did say i want the war to stop and civilians to not be harmed unnecessary.

Which should be backed by humbleness if it were anything close to being authentic.

So how about make a good choice and stop challenging me.

Not as long as you keep making ridiculous pronouncements. This is the internet. You will be challenged regardless of your feelings.

There's more ways to end this conflict than your saying.

There is throwing Russia out and there is a ceasefire at the current line of control. That is all that Russia can maybe afford.

Don't harm anymore innocent civilians and stop the war in Ukraine.

It's at minus thirteen.

There are obviously more people that want the war to continue and Don't care about civilians .

How disgusting abhorrent

What is disgustingly abhorrent is you pushing surrender. China didn't have the cojones to do that to Zelenskyy's face and neither do you.

I have brains and brawn.

Clearly none of either.

Why not show some brains and tell me who would take Putins place if he was assassinated ?

You don't know the answer either because it is an opaque fascist dictatorship. It doesn't matter, though, because it has always been about teaching the Russian via the language he understands: force.

Unlike Ukraine who gave up their nuclear arsenal .

It really excites you do see bad things done to the innocent, huh?

What a ridiculous preposterous thing to say to someone that has served his country and wants the Ukraine war to stop and stop the unnecessary harm to civilians.

Please tell us where the military hurt you. That might actually be a worthwhile conversation.

Will Putins death realistically stop the war or not ?

It will because it will throw the fascists into confusion as they eat their own.

Why is it too difficult to understand i want the war to stop and innocent civilians to be protected.

Because we can see your morality in what you are posting. It drips of, shall we say, self-advantage and taking advantage of others.

Wow...well...iam more interested in finding solutions for problems and expanding my knowledge and pointing out false assumptions than just trolling people to just click a vote button.

I can save you the trouble: you have no knowledge. 0 + 0.0001 is still pretty much 0.

Have a nice day.

Have a nice day to you, too. How come you are still here? Do you not know how to turn your computer off?

A generation is a lifetime.

No, it is 20 years.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation

Russia heinously deceived Ukraine 30 years ago.
