Return of the manner posters....that is until someone gets offended and taken down again

Maybe Japan should force everyone to have a license to carry an umbrella by attending umbrella school?

being rude or not mindful, causing harm to other is a very selfish behavior

not too late to learn good manner

I think this is a good reminder. And it's nice to see the characters not wearing masks.

Reason no. 6,372 why I'm glad I don't live in a big city like Tokyo.

I saw such person with my own eyes, the fact that there are people like this ...

Surprisingly, this is really true. I always thought why in Japan some people hold their umbrellas like that, not knowing it might poke someone behind? Even on the road, I also realized people here tend not to look behind or the side while driving. They don't care what's going on behind.

Not exactly what the poster is about but I really like the folding umbrellas that leave the wet surface on the inside, it makes much easier to avoid getting yourself and others wet.

Somehow Japanese only use this kind of umbrella which is not very pleasant to carry around. I prefer folding umbrellas that are not heavy, small and can be put inside a bag. Getting little wet is not a big deal but getting the eye of a child is a big one.

Wonderfully comic, OTT, delivering a clear message.

Stove that Umbrella, or be held responsible for arriving home, to a screaming spouse, traumatized offspring brandishing an adolescent kebab.

This is more a safety issue than a manners issue.

Amazing that some people are so dumb as to not know to be careful about swinging their umbrella around.

Extremely common in this area to see people carrying umbrellas in that manner. I wondered for years why no one seemed to care. Same for raising umbrellas when they come close to taller people or there are many people carrying open ones in a small area. I've almost had one hit me in the eye several times. This is a step in the right direction.

Forget that the other day a Japanese man deliberately ran into the back of me on the station platform there was so much space he could have walked around me. I was so infuriated I yelled at him, but he never even turned around and it was no accident either.

How about another umbrella manner poster reminding people to look where they're walking while walking in the rain under one? Or another reminding people to be mindful of where your umbrella spokes are poking while walking?
