The IAEA guy said a week ago this release is anything but standard. Hayashi should be a used car salesman on the side.

his country will discharge the water in accordance with international standards and customs

No participants at the meeting explicitly opposed the plan except for China, which has repeatedly urged Japan not to go through with the discharge.

Other participant just too polite to show it

JAPAN! PLEASE STOP DUMPING NUCLEAR POISONED WATER INTO PACIFIC OCEAN BECAUSE ALL OCEANS ARE INTERCONNECTED OKAY?!!

Please take a seat and calm down.

Chinese plants release 6.5 times more tritium that what TEPCO plans to discharge.

Japan "assured" the world that the meltdown we all saw on TV was "an escape of steam" and that "Fukushima is completely under control".

I'm going to maintain a healthy scepticism on these assurances.

Incompetence yet desires trust. You want us to kick the tires?

That settles it then, because Japan governmment assurances have never been broken. Track record speaks for itself.

That photo says it all. A broken chain of trust, with clumsy attempts to repair it.

These articles keep appearing to brainwash people to accept the unpalatable

Say it enough and it becomes fact-quite chilling..,

The anti-nuclear people, in their quest of being afraid of what they do not understand, not only deny experts on the subject without any real counterpoint to their arguments outside of nonsense like "no one really knows" or "how can that be ok?", but they are being used by 3rd actors for their own politics.

Wang Yi is next to Indonesia's FM. Hayashi is one person away. lol

It is amazing the sheer amount of wilful ignorance spouted by the anti-Japan brigade on various message forums and YouTube videos. Many people are condemning Japan's decision to release the water, and totally ignoring the fact that the Chinese and South Korean power plants have released water with double the amount of tritium content compared to Fukushima's. I have seen multiple people make outrageous lies, such as TEPCO 'bribing' inspectors for a favorable opinion, that foreign inspection teams were not allowed to inspect the Fukushima facilities, and that the Fukushima waste water is being released untreated. Not one person has cared to respond to my challenge to provide credible sources to confirm these allegations. Once again, those that are loudest to quickly accuse Japan of distorting the historical record, are the same ones doing the exact same thing.
