Honestly looks good to me as a trailer. Going still temper my expectations though.

Isn't joint custody irrelevant in this case? Chiang is the one who has custody, and fukuhara is the one that abducted and refuse to return the child. Before the abduction, arrangements were made so that fukuhara could spend time with the child for an extended time which sounds like something similar to having partial custody.

Do you think this is a recent trend or has society always been more interested in light entertainment than serious drama?

You know the answer to this already.

The world has room for both, always has.

The world does have room for both, not doubting that. It just re-proves the point of if you want to maximize profits you must market to the mass. Marketing / aesthetic / the fluff is more important than substance.

A bit sad that barbie grossed more than oppenheimer and what that implies bout society as a whole. Guess marketing trumps all.

It's been more than 10 years since the incident, those that are concerned stopped or found alternatives. There's going to be no impact on the seafood business in HK

Give them a suspended sentence to save a few bucks after they just robbed you blind and the town knows it?

It's fine, everyone knows that's how it goes around this part of town, and it's not like they can do anything about it.

Somehow I feel that the death of the minister's by association with the unification church should imply that the unification church should lose its tax preference as a religious group.

While it's certainly a stretch to say the 9 dash line was specifically depicted in the map, these companies has been caught doing some questionable things for seemly no good reason.

In this case, had Vietnam not protested, would someone be able to point and say "ah ha! There's the 9 dash line!" For some browny points with xi?

Very productive to redefine words to fit what you want to say, rather than use the words that conform to other people's understanding of them.

Isn't that exactly how online advertising works? Sounds like bs.

Surprised at all this support for censorship here.

This would hurts other trade partners like Canada, the rule doesn't just apply to china. This would add back the work load for us customs, or create jobs/ increase spending.

Aren't there "carrying cases" for transporting knives typically, or just a proper bag would be fine.

Since, Tepco was the one approving the individual claims when people had to be displaced and relocated, which is they clearly have a conflict of interest so it would only be fair that the Japanese fisheries have to approve of the release of water. But unfortunately it's probably not going to work that way.

Don't think it's noble, the need to personally experience it is, well a personal one.

It's as simple as the cost was fine relative to their disposable income, not going to take the money to your grave so you have to spend it on something.

I don't doubt that none of parties are completely innocent. But given the facts of him being a rich fugitive that is constantly in the media, and the lack of jurisdiction a Lebanon court has over Nissan in a case where most of the facts have been seen; can't see this trial as anything but theatrics.

His defense would come from why he sent the email in the first place. If it's within the course of his job and there was no specific mention, statement or agreement of confidentially with regards to data itself then I fail to see he is at fault.

In reality we all mature at different pace, and the process is a constant one, no is completely innocent the night before adulthood. And I certainly hope no one is waiting to consent at the strike of dawn to abide by the letter of the law.

In the end nothing much has changed.

An unpopular opinion is that marriage as an institution is mainly to ensure that generational wealth is passed on to biological heirs.

So it's about getting some inheritance tax break or not? Same sex couples can adopt a child and pass on the wealth with a will no? Or does the government gets first dibs regardless? And how does offering heterosexual partners the ability to pass on "generational wealth" exactly benefit society as a whole currently, that shouldn't be afforded to same sex ones?

Posted in: How do you feel about convenience stores curtailing their hours of business amid the current labor shortage? See in context

You are either in the labor force (working, looking for a job, or transitioning) or you are not. Don't think minimum wage is the issue, unless it's so low that it doesn't make sense to even work at all. Of course if combini paid more, it could attract more workers but that likely means the shortage is elsewhere in the eco.

Cutting hours actually helps labor shortages, rather than hurt it as there is less demand, and likely the hours being cut is less efficient.
