Now things get interesting. Russia's motley assortment of conscripts and criminals might not last long in Ukraine without the Wagner group. They are a global army of battle-hardened fighters operating in some of the most brutal conflicts against the likes of the Islamic State. After increasing acrimony, the Russians made a move to oust Prigozhin and 'nationalise' Wagner. I doubt that went down well. Putin is now in an uncomfortable position, as the tougher military may not be on his side. Dictators can cement their power over time, but the longer they are in power, the more enemies they make. If he tried to patch things up, he would antagonise and distance himself from his own army.

Prigozhin has claimed Russia's Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu is lying to President Vladimir Putin about 'colossal' battlefield failures in Ukraine.

Prigozhin said the war in Ukraine is a disaster.

He’s surprisingly astute for the leader of a group of criminal thug mercenary killers.

Prigozhin is moving from Rostov to Moscow with his Wagner troops. They have already had a skirmish against the Russian Guard, who fled leaving their armoured personnel carriers.

In response, Russia is starting to block the internet.

The Russian nazis and fascists are tearing each other apart. Fascist Russia's motive for attacking sovereign Ukraine is purely a land grab, while the Wagner nazis are in it purely as mercenaries for the cash.

This lack of unity plays right into the hands of the Ukrainians - bravely defending THEIR beloved nation.

Prigozhin is clearly guilty of the armed rebellion charge the Russian prosecutors have on him, but why would Prigozhin put himself in that position unless it was actually going to happen, or this is another Russian ploy. Yep, popcorn is going to be a hot seller while this plays out.

Don't cling to words. The Rostov region is all frontline, troops are moving there and Ukrs sometimes shoot. This is not a peaceful area.

It really takes something to consider a minor friendly fire event more important than a self-declared military coup.
