Cue people in the comments saying the scientists are all wrong and this is nothing of importance. It is really hard to put more emphasis on humans being the cause of the progressive disaster we are living in, to the degree it is surprising for people to openly appear as ignorant by saying there is no proof of this or that the problems are all natural.

I think the sun has something to do with it.

Twenty years from now, this is likely to be one of the coolest years between 2023 and 2043. We need to continue to take action to reverse global warming. The natural disasters related to a warming ecosphere are going to get worse before they get better.

2023 isn’t the hottest year ever but good try though

How is the sun responsible of this year being hotter than previous ones? the article specifically mentions the problem is the higher and higher temperatures.
Raw Beer
I think so too, as do many climatologists....
Where do you think the heat comes from?
virusrex
How do the sun have something to do with the climate getting hotter? again, the article is not about the temperatures staying stable. So saying the sun must have something to do with the change means something is different about the sun, what would that be?
That is only relevant with the climate getting hotter if you think the source of the heat changed, what is this change and what evidence do you have of it?

The sun is not a light bulb. Solar activity varies.
If you actually listened to the skeptics of man-made global warming, you would know this...
Seems you're refuting their claims without even knowing what they are....

Extremely poor reading comprehension skills. The article uses 'likely' in the title. The year isn't over yet.
Reading skills are essential to understand any subject. It's one of the foundational skills.
Falls at the first hurdle.

Not in a way that can explain the higher and higher temperatures observed.
Debunked arguments based on no data at all have no place in a discussion. Why listen to people found to be repeatedly lying and that have been clearly debunked by actual scientists with arguments and evidence?

The sun is not the cause of 2023 quickly becoming the hottest year recorded.

Again, truly amazed that there are still people out there who would down thumb posts that are simply pointing out FACTS (ie by @virsrex)
"there has been no upward trend in the amount of solar energy reaching our planet."
SCIENTIFIC FACT

Not sure why I'm bothering since all these threads turn out the same, but go on then. What's the other 1% saying?
No, that will be in about three and a half billion years, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.
