Police in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture, have arrested a 29-year-old woman on suspicion of fatally assaulting a 29-year-old female acquaintance.
According to police, Teresa Kumagaya, a company employee, beat her friend Yoshie Tatsuguchi about the head and face several times with her fists at her (Kumagaya’s) apartment at around 9 p.m. Friday, Kyodo News reported.
Kumagaya called 110 at 1 p.m. Saturday and told police that her friend who was visiting her had lost consciousness. Tatsuguchi, who is from Sumoto, Hyogo Prefecture, was taken to hospital where she died a short time after arrival, police said.
Police said Kumagaya has admitted assaulting Tatsuguchi and quoted her as saying they got into an argument and she lost her temper.

Well that's one way of putting it. Anyone want to bet she "was drunk and doesn't remember anything"?

She must be one hell of a puncher.

First things that come to mind are that the victim was very slight and slender, rail thin. You know the type.
Or the assailant was a big, brawny gal.
Or both.
That's quite the beating for a girl to to throw either way.

A person can die from a single blow to the head.

She lost her temper and beat her friend to death with her fists? Anger management issues much?

Were they drunk (was SHE drunk) ?
I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned....maybe it's gender based whether to mention that or not

16 hours between the beating and calling the police, not an ambulance but the police. Obviously the police would alert the ambulance service due to the nature of the call but the woman waiting 16 hours before calling probably contributed to the victim's death.

Teresa Kumagaya? Brazilian? Filipino?

They may have made up, gone to bed and then died of a brain injury in the night.

Someone clearly needs anger management classes. A single blow to the head can be fatal. She's just possibly lost years of her life because she couldn't deal with conflict like a sensible adult.

Simmering to boil.
Attacks like this are unfortunately on the increase in Japan.
Stay safe everyone
