An 18-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in a waiting room on a platform at a train station in Nagoya on Saturday night, police said Sunday, adding that a 29-year-old man suspected of stabbing her apparently killed himself by jumping from the platform into the path of an oncoming train.

The woman was found at around 8 p.m. Saturday, collapsed on a bench in the waiting room on the platform at Motokasadera Station on the Meitetsu Nagoya Main Line, Kyodo News reported. A knife was stuck in her chest, police said. Minutes before she was found, a man jumped from the same platform and was hit by a train.

Police said the man was killed instantly. The woman, Tsukine Kawamura, was taken to hospital where she died about 2 1/2 hours later from three stab wounds to her body.

Police said the suspect, Takuya Minami, lived near the victim and that they had been in a relationship. They said that Kawamura had told friends she had ended their relationship but Minami was trying to get back together with her.

Another love story with a tragic end. Broken hearts all around...

No not a love story between 18 and 29. It's called stalking and so desperate.

Another jilted lover murder and suicide. It seems many Japanese have a very fickle hold on their emotions.

Too many attacks with knives these days

It is worrying

"Love" can kill. It's always been a dangerous mind game.

@disillusioned "It seems many Japanese have a very fickle hold on their emotions". It seems many MEN have a very fickle hold on their emotions, as this type of crime is a world-wide phenomenon and always has been.

This grown man could not face reality and rejection. Full of hate and emotions all of us deal with. This piece of work take a young person life and destroys another (the Traindriver).

Sorry for the girl, not so much for the loser "boyfriend."

There’s not only a lower childbirth rate, but obviously also a lower potential parent’s rate to observe.

It was not love, it was hate.

It was not a "poor guy", it was a murderer.

Please stop the whitening of a killer. Not much info has been given so let's stay to the facts.

And don't mistake love for this. That was a case of hate. "If you don't belong to me, you die". If anyone has sympathy for that man.... Then I recommend to think about it....

What does this have to do with the crime being reported in the article?

It's a horror story not a love story. He was a murderer and a coward because he killed someone then ended his own life rather than face judgement. Broken hearts? Seriously? She was murdered and he put a knife in her heart. This isn't a tragedy. It's an atrocity.

Sick moron coward. RIP young lady.

It’s not only Japan, true. But the chances of it happening here are so much higher. So long as denial holds sway, nothing will change.

@oyatoi "It’s not only Japan, true. But the chances of it happening here are so much higher." Do you have the stats to back that up?

Yet another "I love you, therefore I must KILL you" story.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Love has two definitions after reading in the dictionary : one is about willing to bring good to a person by identifying with him/her, the other is an attraction to a person with passion often based on sexual instincts and implying various behaviors.

In Japan no doubt the second meaning is way more common than loving empathy.

I believe that comes from the religion background culturally.

Another loser doing it wrong.

Jump in front of the train, FIRST.

Then attempt to stab others.

Rot in hell, punk.

Couldnt agree more.

Christianity is not popular in Japan, symbols are often used as a fashion trend or misinterpreted to one’s liking, that couldn’t effect positively on a society’s spiritual health.

Another love story with a tragic end.

This is hardly a "tragic love story". It is the story of a sick and violent "man" who was a selfish jerk. Lived and died a loser.

Rest in Peace to the innocent young girl. I hope the train driver can recover from the horrible trauma.

Poor young woman. Cut down before she could really even start her adult life.. RIP.

A knife was stuck in her chest! How Graphic and horrific! Perhaps this was a grown man taking advantage or a young naive 18 year old women who finally came to her senses to get rid of what she perceived was a serial idiot and a problem that she couldn't shake.

Obsessive for sure. 'If I can't have you, nobody will!'. Just an egotistical jerk who couldn't take 'no' for an answer. He was looking for someone to control, not a relationship. And that fool couldn't face justice and own up to it like a man because he wasn't one.

Soap opera material, sad that's true to life.
