Subtitles. Dubbing is the bane of all film and TV actors, who should be heard as they intended. I would never want to see “Seven Samurai” dubbed, nor understand why someone would watch “Poirot” without hearing David Suchet’s voice, instead preferring some “voice actor” put their interpretation on a character. Let them stick to anime and commercials.

Live action, almost always subtitled, though some (like some old Jackie Chan films) are absolutely hilarious with their (intentionally?) atrocious dubbing. For animation, I also prefer subbed, though there have been some decent dubs and less mismatching of dialogue and mouth shaping.

Dubbing? No thanks. Not after once having to sit through a dubbed version of Totoro into American English.

As for me the original is of course preferred, and then only subtitled in the rare case that it is in a language I don’t understand sufficiently.

When I was in Italy it was always amusing listening to John Wayne speaking Italian. No longer the tough guy.

Unless it's an animated movie, subtitles. Dubbed movies, especially for live action is always off in that the voice doesn't quite match the character and neither do the movements of the mouth. It's very distracting.

Everything I watch is subtitled. Being deaf makes that necessary, even for old cartoons. But, you get used to it. I am, however, aware of the dubbing issues; they existed before I lost my hearing. Dubbing sucks, especially when you have to read lips.
