Maybe we can help them out with that by providing an air gap around China's internet.

Kai-Fu Lee and others said China's lack of data privacy could be an advantage in fueling data set- hungry LLM dev.

But it seems the Party's desire for control is retarding that development and causing them to fall behind given recent developments.

There, I fixed that for them. The CCP hasn't been for the people of China for quite a long time. As I keep saying, the CCP and the average Chinese citizen are completely different. None of the average Chinese citizens ELECTED the CCP members. The CCP members "elect" themselves.

Excellent President Xi..
Protect the Mother China..

USA and EU are worst. “Misinformation, disinformation” anybody? What do these words even mean?

Find a way to flood China’s Internet with open and honest information about various information, such as the Tianmen Square Massacre. That would upset the CCP to no end.

And yet nobody is calling for the US to have its internet firewalled like China.
RichardPearce
So the nasty, evil CCP is bringing its internet security laws closer to Americas.
And the reason the US isn't talking about putting a firewall around its internet is because a hacker doesn't need a firewall to protect their computer, others need a firewall to protect their computer from the hacker.
TaiwanIsNotChina
That doesn't make any sense. A hacker would need a firewall if he is himself a target, as the US is from Russia and China. Both of them also do it for profit. The US doesn't cut itself off from the internet because that is insane.

What? It isn't hard to block facebook completely and never see it. But it is our choice, not mandated by 1000 CCP members far away. Same for google. If you don't like it, block it. Further, we aren't forced to use any specific application to travel or buy things or get on the internet. And much of the world is free to criticize any govt, including their own without fear of being "disappeared".
Remember the guy who posted that sign on a bridge in China last fall? He hasn't been seen again. He wasn't violent, just had some ideas that the CCP didn't like and shared those ideas. That got him jailed and never seen again. As a reminder for our Chinese friends: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-63295749 The Chinese internet has been wiped of everything related to him.
