Men have been successfully guilted into pretending it is as exciting as men's sport.

It isn't as good as men's football but it has been just as dramatic.

I don't know of any men (including myself) who watch it because they have been 'guilted' into doing so. Maybe you have though.

The GOP need to dump this criminal loser quicksharp.

We told you what he was like in 2016 when he was insulting wives & disabled people and bragging about sexually assaulting women.

But you were more concerned with sticking it to the lefties.

So now him and a bunch of your people are going on trial as corrupt politicians and American traitors.

You deserve them.

He's a flight risk and should be denied bail. He could be in Moscow by tomorrow with reams of state secrets for Putin.

The Party of Law and Order don't like people getting bail, so this should have bipartsian support.

As you previously said Trump will only be charged after he is found guilty.

Also, apparently the prosecutors "will need more than just evidence".

Trump was right about election fraud.

He knew this because he and his co-conspirators were the ones doing it.

This makes Nixon's filth look relatively innocent.

Trump will be a case study in government corruption forever.

Even if you don't agree with climate change, the solutions are something that we should be doing anyway regardless.

The solutions below are from Greenpeace, considered by some to be 'radical lefties', and yet they are pretty common sense. They will lead to a cleaner, more sustainable planet for what will soon be 10 billion people. I'd challenge anyone to diagree with them.

Keep fossil fuels in the ground

Invest in renewable energy.

Switch to sustainable transport.

Help us keep our homes cosy.

Improve farming and encourage vegan diets.

Restore nature to absorb more carbon.

Protect forests like the Amazon.

Protect the oceans.

Reduce how much people consume.

Reduce plastic.

They totally ruined the festival for the peaceful locals in attendance with their atrocious behavior and flagrant disrespect for their host nation. Horrible. Just horrible.

The band were not responsible for cancelling the event. The event was 'ruined' by the organizers.

Do you think the 'peaceful locals' wanted it to be cancelled because of a kiss?

I believe the Malaysian government should extradite them

Where should the Malaysian government extradite them to?

and prosecute them to the fullest extent of their law. The band should also pay the hefty fine and promote Islam in TV commercials as part of their penalty.

You sound very angry about people being gay / not muslim. And very unpleasant.

Not sure where you get your facts from Clippy but NZ the size of Hionshu?

Roughly, yes

NZ 268,000km²

Honshu 228,000km²

I think you'll find Japan is just 41% larger.

I know, that's why I said 'Honshu' and not 'Japan'. Are you a bit thick?

If you increased the population of NZ from 5 million to 100 million then what do you think would happen to the amount of trash generated and effect on the natural environment? Go on, have a guess.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Posted in: Good sports See in context

It's a rider nation than Japan because not only are the streets clean but the natural environment is too, which can't be said for Japan.

NZ is a wonderful and beautiful country, but to be fair its about the size of Honshu with 1/20th of the population. It's bound to have more natural areas than Japan and there are far less people to drop trash.

And don't forget that your natural environment is being ruined just like anywhere else by invasive animal species, wilding conifers and intensive farming.

If the Japanese people want to show off by picking up trash, good for them. It's a cry for help, but it does no harm.

It's more guaranteed than non-scientific data.

Hence it's called science.

Nobody talks about eating more healthily, exercise or other ways to boost the immune system.

Perhaps because everyone already knows the benefits of a healthy lifestyle?

Maybe they should encourage this more, but it's hard to get most people to change their way of living when an effective vaccine is a much easier option for them.

The almost limitless funds the Saudis can throw around will also make football more expensive for everyone.

Players in other leagues will be able to demand higher wages to keep them from going there. And that will make football more expensive for the fans.

Good news for players, not so much for the clubs and the paying punters.

Posted in: Silkworm sashimi, cricket curry on menu as bugs make comeback in Japan See in context

One would need to consumer around 1,000 grasshoppers to get the equivalent protein contained in a 12oz steak, for example.

Fair point, there is no no-lose solution. It takes around 10,000 litres of water to make that steak and a third of the world's cultivated land to make animal feed. Animal greenhouse emissions are higher than those by the entire transport sector.

Insect protein takes far less resources, but it is still very expensive to mass produce.

Some people will try to say that we are trying ban steaks / farting cows completely, but they aren't smart enough to undertand that we can do something called 'eating less red meat' to reduce the CO2 emissions by several percent.

Doing Less does not mean Not Doing It At All.

Japan hasn't reached 60% since 1970.

Japan's international tastes have broadened a little since then I suppose. There are immense amounts of overgrown hatake in the country now, but I guess they aren't commercially viable. The inoshishi love them though.

A Canadian friend of mine makes a decent living from small plots of specialized crops; fresh organic herbs such as oregano, tarragon, basil etc. Various types of waxy spuds, Scotch Bonnet and reaper peppers, original stuff like that which he sells at the 道の駅 and flea markets for a decent price. I think that could be something that local farmers could do instead of the usual crops which are overproduced and almost given away at this time of year.

If they ever develop a serious taste for cheese or pies they'll be in real trouble.
