There can be no draws in instant death games.

Exactly, which is why I would prefer to see games ending during extended play instead being decided by a shootout.

China has prohibited food imports from Fukushima and nine other Japanese prefectures since a devastating earthquake and tsunami in 2011 triggered a major accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant.

This is one move by China with which I agree.

This is obviously not a clear cut issue, as even the title asks, Do you agree, implicitly acknowledging the diverse scientific views.

It's unknown what started these fires, but it is known that the high winds from the naturally occurring hurricane were a contributing factor to the fire's intensity,

I’d heard his name from US friends.

I gather he was very good at his sport and had a long career. Made a few quid.

Unless you've been working in a coal mine you certainly know the name of one of the biggest names in one of the biggest sports. Oh and he was married to one of the biggest models in the world, Gisele Bündchen.

Manmade climate change too? If not, how can we believe this time that we did it, but it was something else back then?

Right. People have a short memory, and forget the natural historical changes.

The winds generated by Hurricane Dora were a major contributing factor, according to the experts.

Declaring a disaster has in determinative effect on the cause of said disaster. It only makes it bad enough to warrant Federal assistance.

The federal government declared the fires, not climate change, a disaster.

*Biden also ordered that federal aid be used to supplement local recovery efforts for areas impacted by the *wildfires.

Not wrong, your quoted text do not in no way contradict the contribution of the climate change to the extreme weather events becoming more important and frequent. That claim is completely yours and have not been supported by the opinion of any expert.

Wrong. Why troll on this topic? It is very disrespectful.

Again, the sources cite the winds generated by Hurricane Dora as a major factor:

Another **major factor was a large difference in atmospheric pressure in the north and south of the island, brought about by Hurricane Dora** (situated to the south). Winds which usually flow from higher to lower-pressure areas were made stronger due to the low-pressure conditions towards the south. These strong air currents quickly spread fires.

Wrong. Just chirping in with your personal opinion proves nothing.

Well, it does prove something . . .

Still not wrong, no expert have said anything that could be interpreted as opposite to the comment.

You are wrong again.

Strange obsession of yours, this trolling.

The initiative was launched to boost flood resilience in major cities and make better use of rainwater through architectural, engineering and infrastructural tweaks.

Just looking at the second paragraph of the article shows that your personal claim that human activity is not related to the failure of the flood control measures is false.

No they don't, el nino is only one contribution, you still have brought zero references that say climate change have no role on these extreme events, zero, nil, none.

No matter how much you troll here, the fact is the experts in the article note the effect of the natural event of El Niño.

If you read the article you would see that.

Then why the federal goverment clearly blame effects of climate change as the origin of the problem? obviously this is a consequence of changes that have been completely attributable to human activity derived climate change.

The US federal government already declared the fires in Lahaina a disaster.

So, your personal opinion is contradicted again.

The article clearly says says these are events that broke records, that by definition means they are something new.

Your personal opinion, which is basically a conspiracy theory, that typhoons are new to China are basically laughable.

Let's see if the experts agree:

*China is one of the countries that have been continuously experiencing negative impacts by typhoons.*

https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s11069-015-1586-0

*This research comprehensively assesses the impact of typhoons across China by using the geographical information system based on time series data between 1980 and 2012.*

Not something new---obviously.

No they don't, the contribution of human contribution derived climated change is what make the extreme eventes to important and frequent, if not that would be the norm every time el nino was present, which is obviously not the case.

Yes they do.

"When El Nino ends, the global weather situation should stop being so extreme," she said.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Posted in: Maui wildfires death toll reaches 53 as blaze mostly contained See in context

No. Global warming by humans is the main factor. Winds exacerbate to spread fire, but the reason it happened is global warming caused drying of the area that would not have happened even 10 year ago.

Wrong.

*Another major factor was a large difference in atmospheric pressure in the north and south of the island, brought about by Hurricane Dora (situated to the south). Winds which usually flow from higher to lower-pressure areas were made stronger due to the low-pressure conditions towards the south. These strong air currents quickly spread fires.*

No personal belief, the article makes it perfectly clear this is not just a natural phenomenon but it is being directly affected by human activity derived climate change.

The experts contradict your personal belief:

"When El Nino ends, the global weather situation should stop being so extreme,"

Also, the area has seen such heat before:

"It's been more than 70 years since a temperature like this was recorded"
