Apologies have been given but too many of them sound hollow.

Well, it's like um, your opinion, man

Is it so difficult to offer an annual apology for terrible and tragic wrongdoings? It would help to improve relationships with those countries that suffered.

I am baffled at why you want an apology so much. Whoever wanted to improve relationships with Japan has already did. Japan has a super economy (for now), so your Chinas, your Koreas, your USs, decades ago sorted things with Japan and scratching each others' back. If they are still so pissed, they would have played the sanctions card already.

I did do something about it. I married a Japanese and our families came together.

Fantastic, mate. Well done, Fair play. But why do you want Kishida to apologise every year? Are you asking your wife to apologise as well?

People who committed those crimes already apologized and punished. Governments moved on, so did America. Now Japan and America are best friends (more like suzerain and vassal).

And Kishida is adressing to his people. He is not standing in front of UN to all of a sudden apologise. Context bro. Nobody owes you an apology.

He should have offered a sincere apology for the actions of Imperial Japan.

Go do something about it. Dont forgive Japan, dont visit, dont think about Japan.

Pretty sure your country plays BFF with Japan selling weapons and earning good cash, not minding what Kishida says every August 15th. Life goes on

Vietnamese died willingly defending the South Vietnam governments, say what you will about them.

They should have just opened their doors for Harbingers of Democracy?

And what did the American soldiers die for? Willingly attacking in the name of American government? Or were they forced?

I like how Murica has all these war memorials and cemeteries of Vietnam war, Desert storm etc.

But the right wing whites are all b***hurt when Japan has one shrine.

Yeah Imperial Japan was bad, but history is history.

I have to be a bit critical of Japan here.

Why are you allowing Chinese tourists in the country when they China are war gaming off your coasts and seizing islands with rightful Japanese resources and over fishing your waters? Cyber attacking government and financial institutions? Threating your neighbors with the same if not worse. Invading your airspace.

Does Japan need the revenue from these Chinese Nationals that bad to make a stand and say NO to Chinese tourists?

Money talks bruv. When money talks, governments listen. Japan simply cannot ignore all the money these people are bringing.

These high schoolers cant voice their opinion and cannot protest against organizers. It's the greed of the parents, coaches, and organizers that they take pride by the results of the minors that they do not even consider outside temperature ranges.

Why should they? Coaches have spent the last year doing 残業 and training his boys so hard.

While Chinese tourists are indeed loud and inconsiderate most of the time,

Let's not ignore the fact that Tokyo is currently overcorwded by the whites. I cant book hotels for business travels. Around all hotels you see hordes of white tourists. And they arent any much better than the Chinese. at least Chinese are spending tons here and contributing a lot to tourist revenue.

I miss the time when there werent tourists of any color.

Japan's core consumer prices, which exclude volatile fresh food items, jumped 4.2 percent from a year earlier in January.

Why fresh food items are not being counted? To downplay the inflation? Food prices are increasing every week. Now there is bird flu that is pushing the egg prices.

Instead of spening 2 trillion to ease the pain, why not address the source of the problem? Just change your easy monetary policy. JPY gains momentum and import prices will go down.

Of course there is corruption. Corruption is in the blood of every politician in former Soviet Republics. Ukrainian politicians are not saints. Just because their country is being invaded, doesnt meant they cant steal from the people and stack it in their graves. I hate USSR, I hate communism, I hate Stalin, Lenin and Marx. I hope they are still burning in hell and will continue to do so for eternity. They destroyed, corrupted the system. Central Asia and Eastern Europe will wretch in corruption for another good millenia.
