What difference does that make? Some people can't help that due to something in their psychology. I had an uncle like that. And even if the woman is fat that's no excuse to make immature jokes about her like a sassybrat clod (like trump). That makes a hostile work environment at the very least.

His music speaks for itself. A great songwriter and performer. My appreciation for Neil Young has enhanced my life, watching him play over the years with CSNY, my first concert I ever went to, along with his solo career and concerts, thereafter. Live at Massey Hall in 2007 was the first of his long series of releasing everything he has. At the time it was such a joy to listen to him when he was still starting out, and the voice of youth.

You saw CSNY back in the day? CoVid claimed the 'C' earlier so there's no more CSN (& Y). 'N' has put out a good observational solo CD this year, reflecting on current and recent history like the trump dictatorship. It's good that Neil is releasing so much stuff now while he's living and you can hear it.

I grew up with Prince and Springsteen, never got to see the former but 4 times the latter. They both have warehouses of unreleased work but Prince is dead and there's all that legal crap, and Bruce has said he's completed at least 9 albums during the 90s his label hasn't put out yet.

Neil's albums have shown great diversity and influence. He's been called the Godfather of Grunge. And McCartney has stacks of tracks himself in the can. At least we can hear shelved Neil stuff while he's still around.

To encourage people to be strong in the face of their own difficulties and then to take your life is abandonment .

Some people don't have the strength to carry on .

A shame she tarnished her own legacy

I had a serious relationship in college with a GF who suffered from bipolar ever since she was 14 years old. It is a devastating disease and she had to endure a lot of abuse, neglect, misunderstandings and crap from many idiots, users and 'know-it-alls' who knew nothing about her condition or her life and didn't even try to.

Me and her parted ways amicably in the mid 90s but I never forgot her. I saw her obit in late December 2016, she took her life on Christmas Eve and the full gravity hit me as if Mt. Denali had fallen on me.

I loved her so much and I always will but I was so helpless, then and now. I couldn't help, heal or save her.

Bipolar makes its victims do some extravagant things, they know not what they do. Granted, Sinead has said and done some things that were provocative, offensive (to some) and downright stupid an her bipolar is not an excuse. As for tarnishing her legacy of talent as an excellent singer and musician, she did that by all the dumb and outrageous things she did, no doubt to get attention (and plenty of ridicule).

As for suicide, the depressed stages can be so severe that the victims like Sinead or Naomi Judd or my old college GF may see no other solution, it's tunnel vision at best. They take what they see as the only way out.

When I saw my old GF in the funeral home, I kneeled and prayed to God to forgive her because she didn't know what she was doing. Even now after over 6 years her burial site doesn't have a gravestone because her family didn't/doesn't give a DAMN.

At least Sinead's site will. And I hope this might be a wake-up call to start addressing mental disorders more seriously. They're more common than most people want to admit. Her talents were wasted and it's tragic but the fickle public's indifference didn't help matters either. She was the first Next Big Thing/New Sensation of the 90s and the post-Cold War era. That decade ended musically with sex robot pop tarts, boy bands, turgid 'nu-metal', phony corporate 'punk', new age and other garbage.

Sinead has certainly helped place Ireland firmly on the rock'n'roll map, paving the way for success for fellow Irish rockers like the Hothouse Flowers, the Cranberries and more. As well as a cultural vogue for many things 'Irish' like 'Riverdance' (good), new age Enya (zzzz) and Roma Downey's new age 'Touched By an Angel' on TV (rubbish). At least the Greatest Irish Export is still with us, that being U2.

RIP Sinead. You were sick all along but I hope God forgives you for the dumb and silly things you did and this moronic world used for childish gabby fodder. We all do dumb things and nobody can touch or mess with you now. Have a happy and better afterlife.

The CCP is so out of touch that they need to make fictional movies to support reality. The truth is the ChInese economy is declining. Their ally in Russia is losing a supposedly "3-day" war. The economy sucks, we still have CoVid to deal with and the US has a President who kisses no fanny. He may be the oldest POTUS but he's not dumb and he kowtows to no one like TrashTrump did. And neither did the previously oldest POTUS, Ronald Reagan.

The CCP can't handle the problems going on in their own nation so they're pushing this jive in order to divert attention from it all. May I remind them, when things got sticky in Argentina the fascist New Organization Government pulled that same stunt by invading the Falkland Islands in 1982. Their defeat led to the fall of the regime.

China had better think hard and think twice about Taiwan. Russia thought taking Ukraine would be a breeze like Kazakhstan too. Guess again.

And while growing up I also enjoyed Shatner in 'T.J. Hooker' on TV, with that cute Heather Lockyear ; )

Cool. Make it so. I love everything Star Trek.

The original STAR TREK. I met William briefly as well as Chekhov, the cool intelligent George Takei and the late James Doohan when he already was in the early stages of Alzheimer's. I also enjoyed TNG until about the last season or so when Gene Roddenberry passed away. I met Marina Sirtis at a Trekkie convention too.

DS-9 was OK at first but it lost steam fast. I didn't like 'Voyager' much at all, it veered too far from the original principals and fun factor. Things got too new agey for me.

Now there's all those trash movies, just a soap opera in space. CRAP.

I enjoyed the STAR TREK movies with the original cast too. They were fun and funny. 'Don't call me "tiny"'.

At least William Shatner is still around and in the game. It's good to see that.

Holograms are limited by their nature and AI in their vocabulary and how much conversation you can 'have' with one. I once 'talked' with a hologram of the late astronaut John Glenn in a museum in Parma, Ohio. Unbelievable. I'm no PETA person, I'm no animal freak. I'm allergic to hairy animals so I don't have a pet. But you just don't go throwing one at anyone or anything like it's a piece of common garbage. That's major uncool and uncalled for, and yes the startled dog could've attacked the cop and/or got injured itself. And this is assault (of a police officer) and animal abuse and I'm against all of that.
