If we're going to send someone off to the toilets for something "natural" let's make it the louts who cough and sneeze without covering their gobs

Posted in: What are some scenic sites or nature spots in Japan that you had long heard about, but disappointed you when you saw them for the first time? See in context

The "Seven Hells Onsen" (hot springs) in Beppu.

They're actually seven separate mud pits that had something unique about them generations ago, but are now simply mud pits which you pay big money to travel to and look at from far away while understanding that there was something unique about them generations ago.

Also Kyoto. Everything about Kyoto is underwhelming except for the prices and the whinging of locals, which are quite overwhelming. I don't know how long they can milk the rubes until people realize it's just the pyramids of Giza with fewer touts, less public transport, but more electric poles and hanging wires and much more whinging.

Is there any country or region that is NOT subject to customs checks?

So, sending a Get Well card to Grandma requires the possession of a prior-approved Internet account with the Government?

I think a lot of people are not comfortable with the large number of mostly male, mostly older, gentlemen who cough, hawk, and sneeze as loudly and forcefully as possible without the slightest bit of concern for others around them.

I hope everyone can hope to continue to find common ground with honest and civil folks which they may share disagreements with.

And here's to hoping more and more people in Japan can enjoy and embrace the wonderful taste of Mexican cuisine. Ole!

"Arson and knifings seem to be the weapons of choice in japan."

No worries, Randy Johnson! Future wannabe criminals are home right now trying to perfect their copycat zipguns. It'll take a few weeks, and we'll read about some catastrophic failures, but these weapons will be quite 'fashionable' for at least the next 18 months.

I have just a little bit of medical training and experience but even I know that a loxoprofen patch is much more effective in relieving my localized pain than IV injection or oral administration (pills), and I can slap a patch on anytime without a doctor or nurse.

This simply means that the idle rich will find their amusement elsewhere.

Now that Japan is open for "business" once again, and your yen goes a long way these days, look forward to many more of these travelers "on business".

It doesn't matter what the numbers are anymore.

Watch the skies. Jumbo passenger planes are constantly overhead now, flying into the major cities in huge numbers.

There are obvious tourists slow-walking while gawking at the sights and trinket shops like they just got here today. (They did.)

Japan is open once again to (rich) travelers!
