Being raped is not the babies fault, she should have baby hatched it, someone else would have loved that child.

More education around baby hatches are needed!

So ugly, how did it get to that she thought this was the only thing she could do. So cold.

@TaiwanIsNotChina: How do you go from not liking American politics (and the fact they change every 4 years) to abducting Americas? Just because we hope you lose a sporting event (because we are cheering from another country) isn't a hate crime.

American's need to understand the rest of the world thinks you are nice people, we don't hate you as a people, the rest of the world just don't like stomping over everything because thinking the American way is the best and America needs to take a view on everything.

@Christopher Mas Osan: You say anti American like it's a hate crime. I don't cheer for America is sporting games, why does American think the rest of the world should "follow their lead"?

My opinion is that America does not have to play "Dad" to two countries and the countries should sort their own stuff out.

Historic for whom? The US wants to control Asia, don't let them.

@wallace : I'm glad you have many people to put money in for your funeral, truely thats great, but many familes don't have 100,000 yen sitting around in savings. There are many familes with no extended families able to help. Japan has a massive working poor problem and there are no means to get out of it.

Wallace, 180,000 is 2-3 months salary for most part time workers. There is no chance people are going to afford that. The state should offer a free cremation only for 10,000yen.

The state needs to offer low cost or free funerals for people without money. The cost of funerals in Japan gets up there the same as weddings.

Japan's implementation of the Hague convention means that if the Japanese parent is at risk of being arrested in the other country Japan will "protect" them, even when they steal the kid.

I hope Japan does the right thing in this case.

What a waste of time, she will be given 18 months suspended for 3 years. It's the same light ass sentence for killing your child every damn time. This country needs to take better care of the defenceless.

Total abuse of power by the boss. Although a different issue, the woman, knowing this information, should not have discriminated against the man and talked to him as like any other person in the office.

Glad they didn't post stats on Japanese vs non Japanese crime. Pervious articles like this used to paint the picture Japanese people were not committing crimes and putting the blame elsewhere.

They used to also include visa overstayers in the stats skewing a large percentage as foreigners as the problem of crime, glad to see no mention.
