And half of the country was happy

Then why did more than half the country vote him out of office?

the barbs and sarcastic asides and the cynicism between the lines that Greta Gerwig has undoubtedly inserted

“Judging a book by its cover is actually good and cool and I love doing it. I don’t have to watch a movie to know everything about it.” - a wise man who is very adept at media criticism.

Posted in: Italy stands ready to host as Musk talks up Zuckerberg rumble See in context

Musk came out with an “ow my back, oh no we’ll have to postpone again, like last time when my mommy said I couldn’t come out to play”, like the coward he is. Then with his “but let’s have a practice in your garden with no-one watching” nonsense, Zuckerberg was right to say he’s not serious. At least Mark can now dedicate himself more thoroughly to pretending to enjoy human activities. Because he is a human and definitely not a weird robot. Yes.

It has little to do with politics and more to do with male feminists, who often assume their worldview is much more common and universal than it actually turns out to be.

”Feminism has nothing to do with politics” - someone who obviously knows a lot about politics and feminism

lmao Zuck is a disgrace but Musk is just pathetic

Musk, June: Let’s have a cage fight

Zuck, pretending not to be a robot: Oh. Kay.

Musk: uh sorry my mom says I can’t boy that’s a shame

—-Two Months Later—-

Musk: I’m ready for the cage match, bring it!

Zuck, trying to pretend he’s from Earth: I’m. Ready.

Musk: oh no I just remembered I have to have surgery maybe I might not be able to make it oh what a shame

It is funny to see how the fat-right crowd on JT who spent four years saying, “Mike Pence is wonderful! Even if Trump is removed from office, President Pence would be even better! All the Trumpism, no baggage!” have turned on him he second he defied heir Lord and master. Same with Burr. Same with Bolton. Same with Cohen.

Sad.

Canada: If Facebook wants to use the content created by others to coax its users into giving them data, it should pay the news organizations that create that content for the work that they did.

Conservatives: Paying people a fair day’s wage for a fair day’s work is communism.

Posted in: Trump charged over efforts to overturn 2020 election See in context

Our MAGA-lawyers here all like to cite intent...they may want to re-think what they wish for given how many times Trump personally has incriminated himself...

They have long since abandoned any pretence of recognizing reality. For all the crowing about “postmodern neo-Marxism”, (which is a contradiction in terms since Marxism is an explicitly modernist philosophy) they are deeply into a postmodernist stance of “hey who even knows what’s real maaaan?”.

They believe that power should go to those with the strongest will. And what greater demonstration of their willpower than to completely ignore the reality of what is happening around them?

Conservatives hate reality because it does not align with their world view: that women should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, that LGBTQ people should be forced back into the closet, and that those uppity minorities should Remember Their Place.

The MAGA intellectual elite can’t decide if it was an insurrection orchestrated by the FBI to install a President they don’t like (???) or if their idols are chilled out tourists who just slipped and accidentally scaled the Capitol walls, smashed windows and doors to get inside, and then forced sitting Congress people and senators to flee for their lives. I mean, we’ve all done that when we’ve tripped over our shoelaces, right?

For me, I prefer to avoid echo chambers as I like hearing different perspectives.

Oh please. Lovers of the Muskrat are all the same.

”No, they’re all liars!”

“Do you watch NBC?”

”Do you read the New York Times?”

”No, they’re all liars!”

”Do you read The Guardian?”

”No they’re all liars!”

”Do you listen to PBS?”

”No they’re all liars!”

”Then… what news do you listen to to diversify your views?”

”I listen to The Antivax Whackjob Podcast, watch KKK News on YouTube, and read HowToBeABigot.com. It’s important to have a diverse viewpoint, isn’t it?”
