Posted in: Thinking of buying a new pair of jeans? Breaking down the cost over time might help you decide See in context

I have two pairs of jeans I bought from H&M about 3 years ago. The pockets started tearing down and I fixed them. So they probably last another two years.

Just got a pair of Under Armour trekking shoes I use everyday, after the previous ones got a hole on the sole.

I just buy what I need I use it till it nearly falls apart. But then again, I don't have a lot of money.

Why is it almost always Sapporo or Saitama???

It's not. The crime section is all over Japan everyday.

It's good to stand against the release of any kind of radioactive material into nature.

But knowing South Koreans, none of those people care about the ambient, at all. They just want another excuse to say they hate Japan (due to their indoctrination of hate).

Posted in: Japan's smoking rates continue to decline for men, women in 2022 See in context

@Strangeland

Public buildings like city hall and the like, yes. they are not smoking.

But quite many restaurants (including family restaurants), most bars & clubs (if not all), and many cafes allow smoking.

And his question was not a question. He/she implied I suggested that.

@MilesTeg

Doesn't sound like you've ever been to Japan. Or maybe you don't go out too often.

The only person in this entire post suggesting it should be illegal to smoke at home is you.

Japan had the lamest and most stupid approach I've seen regarding to smoking.

Smoking outside on the street, bad for people's health.

Smoking indoors, "no proven facts" (according to J-politicians) that secondhand smoking is bad. So it's totally fine to smoke indoors.

Did they lecture the students on how Japan still does the exact same thing NK did, but now in 2023?

The moment you think this problem is somebody else's is when you allow human rights to be violated.

We can all agree on that. So why does Japan keep on violating human rights?

Too dang expensive. Even when I wasn't working due to 2020 being 2020 (and 2022), I still had to pay out of my pocket.

They say it's based on your previous year's income. But even if you didn't work the previous year, the minimum your still have to pay is 200,000 a year.

Posted in: How useful do you find customer reviews on shopping sites such as Amazon and Rakuten? See in context

Pictures are very helpful in Amazon but you've gotta spot the bots. They're usually not difficult to tell which is which.

Rakuten reviews I find them untrusty, since sometimes sellers would offer you a free product with your order if you review the item... If your pre-review the item you have not received yet.

There was this time during a rainy and cold day, the exact same time I actually had a mild case off hypothermia, a Japanese lady going up with her 6-7 years old girl.

She just wanted to gaman-suru the trail with the poor kid, even after warning her the kid could get a serious difficulties. She only turned back after we mentioned the police and child negligence.

Posted in: Locals warn Mount Fuji climbers to take challenge seriously See in context

Nope. Not gonna happen, sadly.

I can't possibly count the number of people I've seen going up the mountain in cotton shorts or plain jeans, with ZERO rain gear nor warm layers. Or just bringing a tiny backpack with a laptop inside, or bringing a whole suitcase (I'm not kidding on that one), or a plastic bag from FamiMart instead of a backpack. Or simply trying hiking for the first time in their lives, that being Fuji.

Ha! After all those eikaiwas and pointless hours of "I like banana" at school year after year.

I went shopping in Seoul this week and sooooo many people at stores replied back to me English at various stores.

In Japan, the most a random person can say is "I like hotto dogu."

In my experience, it is better the children are left only in the mother’s custudy.

Because mothers are always exemplar members of society and mothers, for the whole reason of just being a mother, would never ever even think about harming any of their kids...

In other words, she kidnapped the kid and Japanese authorities stand behind her illegal act.

But they won't let sleep that North Korea kidnapped some people 40 plus years ago.

Hypocrites.
