NOBODY on Earth deserves the pay that some of the men are getting ...

They still don't deserve the same pay as the men.

It's shame, with a little bit of guilt mixed in there, I think.

I would do the same.

Why? He didn't do anything.

I think this is a case of "until it bites me in the ass, I don't care" ... Always the way with your and Republican tribe ... "We're against abortion full stop, no exceptions !!... Oh damn, I've got the intern pregnant, abortions are OK" ... "We don't believe in climate change, it's a hoax, but can we have some of those disaster relief funds because my state is under water from another flood that's not supposed to happen for another 100 years"...

Yes blacklabel, isn't it strange how people from counties that stand to benefit from climate change (including Canada) are denying that human made climate change is a thing ?

It won't work .. it's been tried before a few years back when the Chinese were trying to buy up everyone and force their way into the football world. Unless you have grassroots football, ie development of homegrown young players, there is no future for football there.

Great guy. Always gives 100% in every match, but his legs aren't up to it anymore.

I'll be surprised if he makes it to a semifinal again.

Sounds like his motive was to just get pleasure out of hurting other people.

No mention of security cameras. They must have had some.

I remember it raining the whole week so I understand why they need some other kind of bait to get people up there..

Stunning place though

I have a good idea - let's invite China into another trade agreement so they can rip off more of our technology, flood the market with cheap goods and bankrupt homegrown industries.

I hope we're not going to do that again

I think the information that it was expected to continue its path (north east) toward was accurate a week ago when we first saw it moving that way. I thought it would go the same way as typhoon 5 to be honest, this is the definitely the worst outcome.

Fingers crossed it's not too bad for you guys

I wonder how many beers the old guy had drank before the arguement started ... Alcohol always plays a big part in people losing their tempers (me in the last too, I'm no saint).

Posted in: Elderly couple found dead in Tokyo home; heatstroke suspected See in context

That's very sad news ...

I just read up on this a bit -

"Doctors say a group of physical changes makes older people sense heat differently. Not only are they comfortable at higher temperatures than younger folks, but their bodies don't shed heat in the same way. In addition, they may not realize they are overheating. Put it all together, and older people are at greater risk for serious health problems and death at the height of summer."

It could be the case that they thought they were fine until it was too late.

Asusa tabi - I'm pretty sure that this is a common trend in developed countries - I know that the only reason England is able to keep it's birthrate stable is due to higher birthrates in immigrant families - the name Muhammad was the most popular boy's name in the UK in 2022.

Don't gloss over the DPJ's failings. You're right - they were dealt a crappy hand with the earthquake and tsunami - but to start with they went through 3 prime ministers in 3 years - not a great way to show stability aye?

They also decided it was a good idea to scrap a planned American base relocation, reduce existing bases, and extend an open hand China, only for China to become more aggressive and take advantage of the DPJs weak stance. Because they had alienated the US, we were up poop creek without a paddle.

They got obliterated in the 2012 election, 308 seats to 57 ... "It was a bloodbath"

Approval rating doesn't mean anything in Japan - people will remember the chaos that came with the DPJ government when they were voted in 15 years ago.
