What if her job was at a hospital? Or, the electric, water, or gas company? Or, internet or mobile provider? Or, a municipal office? Or, fire, police, red cross, or some other agency that provides support during natural disasters and other emergencies?

I'm sure someone could cover for her. Afterall, it's possible in other countries. And sure, we may only speculate as to what her job is, but going by the law of averages she is probably a single mother OL on a limited contract under the thumb of a temping agency.

At JR Shin-Osaka Station, Kenta Kikuchi, 14, and his 12-year-old brother Yuta, from Iwaki, Fukushima Prefecture, were seeing off their mother, who decided to go home to avoid being stranded due to the typhoon and missing her return to work

Brtual. Why not just enjoy a little more time with your family? Nope, got to prioritise work, eh. A typical Japanese way of thinking.

And I bet the perputrator was smart enough to wear a helmet when fleeing on his bicycle to avoid being stopped by the Bill for non-helmet violations, thereby avoiding all suspicion and successfully completing his getaway.

Another headline from elsewhere on JT:

Man stabs, slashes 2 workers at Tokyo convenience store, flees scene

imagine if this had happened at the Tokyo convenience store and an astute customer found the gun with just the right timing. The whole thing could have been prevented.

The world has had a chance all these years to learn from the effects that WARs cause especially on the innocents, but unfortunately it seems we haven’t learned anything.

No "we" haven't, since it is the powers that be that dictate our lot.

Right but some are legitimately concerned about the ethical issues regarding the suffering and consciousness of insects and the breeding and subsequent slaughter of the trillions that would be required for human consumption. One would need to consumer around 1,000 grasshoppers to get the equivalent protein contained in a 12oz steak, for example.

That is no watermelon. It is sugar, artificial flavouring, colouring, and chemicals, concocted to made to look like the real thing. Definitely not on my bucket list.

They don't care about the health our their citizens, and neither does your government. The whole system is set up go keep you I'll but under the guise of looking out for your health. People are naive.

TGIF?

The restaurant? Never seen anybody pick anybody up there. Just the usual groups of same sex young women each staring into their devices, or people sitting in isolation, also staring at their phones, no doubt on some of the very dating apps mentioned in this article. Sad.

The koban cops in my area seem to eat and drink in a back room, away from the public gaze. Japan sees this as appropriate for some reason.

Indeed. Never seen a single policeman, ambulance officer or fireman eat or drink in public in all my years in Japan. Weird.

The idea of these scams is to speed-rush the victim, making him believe he needs to hand over the money. Now. Not two days later.

Which is why I am saying allow opt in. Especially for those who hardly move money around like a lot of the elderly. For you, you are welcome to carry out your transactions as per usual. Think of I'd like a safety net for those who want it. Always thought it ridiculous how once you deposit money here it's gone and banks/authorities etc seem to want nothing to do with it.

A simple solution would to just allowing an account holder to set it up so that when depositing to an unknown account, it takes 48 hours before the receiver actually gets their money. Transactions could then be easily stopped by either the bank or the person or family if they feel the transaction was fraudulent.. There have been times when I wished I had access to this function myself.

I really don't understand this statement. You should clarify.

Look up papakatsu for a start. And then look through Japanese Twitter or any other social media that allows anonymity. That will put you on the right track. Not say that she definity sought him out but you have to ask what she was doing on these sites AND replying to older men.

Posted in: Man arrested over sex with minor he met online See in context

Because young girls are naive and don't understand that the world is a dangerous place, and don't quite understand the reality that there are sexually predatory men who see young girls as sex objects.

I would say that most of these girls that get involved in this type of activity are definitely not naive and know exactly what they are getting into.

Give him 5-10 years and have the girls family go through therapy and training on the dangers of social media.

Won't be happening. Therapy not a big thing in general. Not like in the US where you just hire a shrink.

Bleeding so much cash chose to (cleverly) crowd source the logo. Other companies need to follow suit and stop giving their cronies millions to design logos that a ten-year-old could have made in exchange for an ice cream.

Me, my partner, a few colleagues, their partners. We might have had it but didn't know about. I'd put that silver-lining down to the vaccines.

And you do know that the vaccines don't prevent you getting Covid right? I know loads who have never been vaxed and never had any symptoms of Covid at all, and have never even been tested.

What they have in common is that they are all healthy and don't get colds in general. Chances are that if the Princess was non-vaxed and in pretty good health in general she may have never got it.

Oh dear! I don't remember 'many' saying such thing. Seems grandpa is getting confused and needs a cup of tea.

Just one example of the media saying how long COVID could be the next public health disaster. Notice how these clowns always choose make clever use of modals.

"This could be game-changing in terms of how we do medical practice, in the same way HIV/AIDs was a game-changer,"

Conspiracy theories belong on the dark web away from 90% of the population who for some bizarre reason buy into this nonsense. That's NOT free speech.

What is it then? Actually sounds like free speech to me, since it is your opinion on something. And remember what happened during the pandemic with the control of information by governments and organisations in working in tandem with social media companies?

Governments and social media companies should NEVER be allowed to define what free speech is.

I also have a feeling that this post, and possibly your one will be deleted by JT for violating some vague "off topic" rule that can not be challenged, nor questioned. Free speech, indeed.
