Posted in: Malaysia festival canceled over gay kiss seeks $2.7 mil from British band See in context

Why do so many musicians who are famous act like plonkers? The 1975 should've known not to do what they did. But, they went ahead and did it anyway. I believe the Malaysian government should extradite them and prosecute them to the fullest extent of their law. The band should also pay the hefty fine and promote Islam in TV commercials as part of their penalty. They totally ruined the festival for the peaceful locals in attendance with their atrocious behavior and flagrant disrespect for their host nation. Horrible. Just horrible.

Posted in: Suspect in hatchet attack at pachinko parlor to to undergo psychiatric tests See in context

Frequently people claim, perhaps falsely, that they don't remember. In this case, the degenerate gambler admitted to attacking a fellow human being with whom he is not acquainted. This hatchet attack does not seem accidental. The victim may have been winning a lot, thus making the attacker jealous. Or, he may have "stolen" the machine at which the victim had hoped to sit. More likely, however, the horrible music they play in those gambling dens got on the attacker's nerve and gave him temporary insanity. Fortunately, the victim survived and wasn't too badly injured. It is with high hopes the attacker gets the tender loving care he requires to repair his delicate mindset.

Posted in: China vows 'forceful' response over Taiwan VP's U.S. visit See in context

The CCP expresses disappointment with anything that doesn't agree with their twisted thinking that they own Taiwan. Perhaps their old policy of one child per family has created a society of spoiled brat men who cry when they don't get what they want? It seems as such, based on their discourse regarding Lai's transit in the US. China doesn't complain when Taiwanese, Japanese and Korean tourists use a cheap Chinese airline and transit thru China on their way to more enjoyable countries.

Posted in: U.S., Japan to develop hypersonic missile interceptor: report See in context

I will reserve judgement on this until we hear from missile expert and fellow genius musician Skunk Baxter. On paper, Japan and the US working together to make interceptors looks good. However, how much do we as regular citizens know about missile technology? Perhaps, only what the mass media tells us and wants us to believe. Kishida visiting the US is a good thing as it sends a message to the world that the US and Japan are allies and will do what is necessary to step up to the communist nations and their supposed new weaponry. Hopefully, Joe and Fumio will have some time to relax after their tiring conversations thru interpreters. U-S-A Banzai!

Excellent work on the policeman doe noticing in just 35 minutes. His quick thinking surely saved lives. All lives matter, after all. Hopefully, IA takes it easy on the absent minded fellow. He probably just had a lot on his mind, thinking about protecting and serving the people of Japan.

Posted in: Japan's Defense Ministry to seek record ¥7 tril budget for FY2024 See in context

This is outstanding news. They should make it an even 10 instead of 7. The CCP is a huge threat to Japan and North Korea is acting uppity, although one could argue that Japan is effing them on. Aegis ships and missiles are excellent deterrents to invading enemies. Moreover, just having them pretty much insures countries with crummy infrastructure that can't handle flooding or famine (eg. Communist countries like China and North Korea) just stay away. While Japan is at it, they might consider stricter checks on foreigners they in so as not to breach national security and prevent terrorist insurgents. Some of this money should definitely go towards that.

Posted in: What's your favorite city to visit in Japan and why? See in context

Nobody reads my comments, but here I go anyway. Everyone who has been there would surely concur. Hands down, the best city to visit is Iizuka in Fukuoka. I filmed many music videos there because it has it all. Iizuka has beautiful Japanese nature, four distinct seasons, amazing food, lovely people with artwork on their skin, and a small town vibe despite being a city with a Don Quijote. Iizukans are a loving friendly people, as evidenced by the plethora of love hotels the city boasts. Romance is always in the air in Iizuka for people of all genders and orientations. So, people, get oriented and go visit Iizuka. Not because I said so, but because it is the best city in Japan and probably Asia. Do your due diligence and you'll see that I am right as usual.

There is a proverb that goes "Time flies like an arrow." Fumiya Saito looks very composed in this photo. He would be an excellent candidate to star as Green Arrow, Bo and Luke Duke, William Tell, Genghis Khan, or even the late great Lü Bu, who was a general during the Eastern Han dynasty. Judging by his looks, the soundtrack should be scored by Ryuichi Sakamoto or David Bowie.

Why all the hate in the comments here? These two geniuses have made life better for the world via their innovation and superior knowledge. Without X or Meta the world would feel totally different. If they want to have a fight, it is pretty much guaranteed the money the fight makes will be given to worthy charities these pragmatic businessmen support. Everyone should just lighten up and be thankful they have blessed the world with Meta, X and some pretty amazing vehicles and space travel.

This is exactly why actors should make their own films and musicians should make their own music videos. You just can't trust big business and these money grabbing purse string pinching moguls who control the entertainment industry. While nothing I have written has ever been picked up by Hollywood, as a writer I can understand their frustration. Fair pay and more money from residuals is tantamount to the writers feeling satisfied and that they are being treated fairly. In these woke times, it is very important to keep everyone happy.

What hooligans would do such a thing to an innocent teenage boy who was, judging by the time of the evening, on his way home from his juku cram school. The Tokyo police should probably investigate rival juku cram schools to see if perhaps renegade vigilante crusader teachers decided to teach the boy a lesson by stabbing him in his teenage leg. Tokyo is becoming more and more like the dumpy parts of London every day with these unprovoked stabbings.

It is nice to hear that Amir-Abdollahian will make a courtesy visit to Kishida. Perhaps they will discuss the repatriation of all the Iranians who came to Japan in the 1990s in addition to the usual geopolitical schmoozing. Japan has much to teach Iran when it comes to nuclear power and atomic weapons. It is with high hopes that the discourse between the Iranian representative and Japanese counterpart will bring the two nations closer. Iran could really help the faltering Japanese economy if they give Japan a break on the price of oil.

Makes sense. Ryukyu is more closely related to Taiwan than mainland Japan. Taiwanese lumber, like its semiconductors, is superior to the Japanese counterpart. Why is Shizuoka whining? Signs? Signs don't fix stupid. There are speed limit signs and stop signs all over this country. A lot of good they do. If anything, Shizuoka should learn a lesson from tourism superpower Hawai'i. Honolulu was smart enough to make Diamond Head access limited to folks who made reservations. Doing so filters out a lot of idiots. You see, idiots have trouble planning ahead. If they can't climb, they can't screw up on their ascent, descent or death wish. Also, Fuji is overrated and is ruined by litter. Japan should take better care of it's nature. That is why fellow genius filmmakers like Kurosawa stopped shooting nature scenes here.

As a scholar and professor at elite universities, I can clearly state that this is so idiotic. The ones who disrupt are non-conformists and exactly what Japan needs. The twerlve years of ES, JHS, and HS here are all about conformity and compliance, which creates corporate drones easily manipulated by the government and employers. The so-called disruptive students should be praised and encouraged to become great leaders like Elon Musk, Masayoshi Son and Tsuyoshi Shinjo.

It is high time they hung up their instruments and microphones. The music industry is a young man's game and nobody wants to see geriatric rockers like the Rolling Stones in Japan when there is countless superior electronica, industrial, noise and improv to be enjoyed at local live houses. Save your money and save your eardrums. Mick's skin is shriveled and wrinkled as are his vocal chords.

Promoting tourism in Japan is a waste of money and these taxes are annoying. The annoying signs in hotels about the taxes just make the local governments out to be money grabbing idiots with no sense of directive. Granted 100 JPY or 200 JPY are just drops in the bucket to foreigners taking advantage of Japan's extremely weak currency. And, have any of you seen the ridiculous way they advertise local areas? It's pointless, utterly pointless.

It doesn't matter how people in Tokyo feel when it comes to us policy regarding the US. Of the US names China, it's alright. China should be named. The rest of the world should know the CCP is up to no good. These sanctions hurt China precisely where they should ---in her gaudy shoddily made purse. Japan should protect itself from China producing semiconductors, especially now since a huge Taiwanese manufacturer invested massive amounts of money into Kumamoto. China doesn't need electric cars from Japan. Japan needs foreign investment, money and protection, and therefore should stop whining and moaning about trivial things.

28% is good. I am a scholar and prefessor at prestigious unvieristy's where 28% is a passing score. Japanese politicians especially cant please everyone all of the time because Japan's population is mostly cantankerous geriatrics who hate everything anyway. Aside from the technical difficulty with a national card system, Kishida has done a splendid job. Vietnamese workers are happy and paying taxes despite being discriminated against by landlords. The elderly continue to work as taxi drivers because the economy makes them to. All in all, he is leading Japan very well. His approval rating sould be 99%. Why it is only 28a% is beyond me. I guess regular people are just too dumb to realize what's good for them. Let's support Kishida more.

This is outstanding news. As a fellow minority musician, it is heartwarming to see that hip hop is finally being recognized by the oligarchy that controls the media and entertainment industry. Sugarhill Gang paved the way for other musical geniuses like the Fat Boys and even that Vanilla Ice character. Run DMC were the best, in my vast musical knowledge enhanced opinion. Someday, Japan based electronica noise avant garb experimental industrial musicians such as myself should release an homage album on CD-R of covers.
