What do Russia, China, North Korea and Iran have in common? Answer: No free speech. No freedom of religion. No right to assemble publicly. No freedom of the press. All of the leaders of these countries languish in oppulence while the median per capita net worth of its citizens is less than $600. So to all the cowards who support the dictators of these countries, walk the talk and not talk the walk.

The security council Is an impotent and Dysfunctional organization. Members of the United Nations should reform that body and expel Russia and China unless they give up illegally acquired territories such as Georgia, The Crimea, Tibet and the northern territories of Japan

Make this summit more meaningful by inviting Taiwan and Mongolia. It is time for a NATO type of treaty for northern and central Asia. Then this nucleus can be expanded to include Southeast Asian and Pacific rim countries

Inclusion of Taiwan in the transpacific partnership could be the catalyst for a mutual defense treaty among Pacific nations akin to NATO. South Korea should also become a member along with Mongolia

Japan should not be listed as the second largest economy in the world. Its proposed new minimum wage of a little over seven dollars an hour is criminal. Japan’s industrial complex is thriving off the backs of its blue-collar workers. In reality part time workers and females are paid less than the proposed minimum wage. In California alone, for example, the minimum wage is over $15 an hour. In China, the world’s largest economy after the US, the minimum wage is on par with Japan but his pension system is a farce. Chinese citizens must work into their 80s to make ends meet even with their pensions from their communist leaders in Beijing. Chinese communism has lost its way for there is a great disparity from its fat cat bureaucratic leaders throughout the provinces and the common workers in the villages. In this perspective Japan is one step ahead of China but miles behind America.

Singaporean citizens also serve jail time for spitting on the sidewalk. It’s a draconian society. Look out, big Brother is watching. In this sense Singapore is a lot like its brethren in China.

Sweden should not have to resort to decoupling the rights of its citizens at the behest of Erdogan. Erdogan still maintains that Turkey did not commit genocide by massacring 1 million Armenian citizens. And his friendship with Putin is not solitary. India, South Africa, Syria, Iran, china and Belarus fully support Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The United Nations is broken. It is time for citizens of the world to stand up and boycott Russia and all its cohorts.

Posted in: Japan falls to record-low 125th in global gender gap ranking See in context

From day 1, old Japanese men have kept Japanese women walking 5 paces behind them. This subservient gender positioning of females permeates Japanese culture and society. This is one reason why the birth rate in Japan will continue to decline as modern Japanese women object to their second class status.

Taiwan supported the US during the Vietnam conflict by hosting American forces in Taichung and Taipei. Why is America cowering before the paper tiger across the Taiwan straits? America, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Canada, Vietnam and other south east Asian countries should base their forces on Taiwan because China only understands a show of strength.

Simultaneously, reduce trade with China and increase trade with these freedom loving countries who support Taiwan. Make China understand that there is a price to pay for its war mongering behavior.

Posted in: Gov't unveils measures to promote marriage, raise birthrate See in context

Too little, too late. Corporate Japan and it’s bureaucratic government are too intertwined and both sectors are run by old Japanese men with old fashioned ideas. Japan must incorporate major changes to increase its birth rate. It can start with requiring all vendors who contract with the government to comply with equal pay for equal work, decent minimum wages, eliminating part-time work status and the removal of glass ceilings preventing the upward mobility of women. These major changes are directly related to increasing Japan’s birth rate

Posted in: Japan drops to 104th in gender disparity rank in World Bank survey See in context

Japan is facing a declining population while having an increase in elderly care. To reverse that trend Japan must achieve gender parity in wages and remove the glass ceiling which prevents women from upward mobility in their jobs. Unfortunately, Japan is run by old men with ancient views and they do not see the direct relationship between gender equality and increasing the likelihood of population growth in Japan
