Some excellent posts here. I too can no longer take these people seriously. The dudes in the lead photo look like some kind of maintenance crew and in fact are kind of sheepish and embarrassed at being photographed. As for the mock soldiers, well it looks like a poor man's cosplay.

I'll repeat this again as it should be stressed it took an outsider, Mobeen Azhar, to investigate and bring this story to prominence.

This is a follow up to Azhar's documentary.

The police let the naked British man go when they believed he had some "mental problems". I've heard of people suffering from schizophrenia suddenly stripping off in the woods or countryside or skinny dipping like this man did.

A couple of young Brits have been arrested after swimming in the Palace moat since that naked man.

Plenty of sports being played by the young in my local park at 1pm in Osaka today. Soccer, girl's softball, Tennis, skateboarding and basketball were the ones I saw. Oh and some track and field guys doing 100m sprints.

I'm pretty sure the numbers are still slightly inflated in Japan due to the constant failure of some families to report their elderly passing away and still claiming their loved ones pension. We read stories of this on a nearly weekly basis in the J media.

Very sorry to hear of the two deaths. The elderly woman's circumstances were unusual though.

If you need to fix any rooftop aerials on the main islands of Japan now is the time to do it. Not once the typhoon hits.

Regardless of people's views on Cosplay it's just great to see young people from around the world getting together again and having fun following the easing of covid restrictions.

I'm sure their makeup is going to be melting in this heat though. Have fun all!

"It was expected to cross to eastern China later in the week."

JT this is incorrect. Why haven't you updated this? NHK have been reporting all afternoon that the typhoon is heading in an eastern direction possibly towards Kagoshima

Regretfully for the Japanese there are always too many foreign people in their country.

Tokyo Living. Did you read the article? It was hardly a fight. The man was assaulted and robbed by three other males. Your comments would not be of any reassurance to the victim or other victims of crime in Japan.

The Japan Today article fails to state that the train in question is a JR Kansai Airport bound train originating in Kyobashi, Osaka. Rinku town is one station from Kansai Airport.

At the station prior to Rinku Station carriages 5-8 are decoupled and continue on to Wakayama. The remaining four continue to the airport.
