Posted in: Scientists say human-caused global warming is exacerbating natural disasters such as fires and floods around the world, making them both more likely and more deadly. Do you agree? See in context

A lot of these disasters are man made. Take these fires and with ecology you take away a link in the chain it all breaks down with a disaster. They took away human habitation from the bush and forrest who management of these area prevented devastating fires. Flooding only concern those area were humans decided to invest in population if those area did not contain such population it would not be of concern and called natural flooding. Building in these prone area makes living more easy and we take the gamble. So man made disasters should be the reference.

For me it Tokyo and Osaka both for same reason. I really enjoy going to the ball game on a Saturday. It starts with the commute where I bump into others ballgame goers even teams of children kitted out to play or to support their team. By the time you arrive at the station and enter the river of fans all heading to the dome. The nods, smiles and interactions are noted on my commute and this just add to a very enjoyable day.

I find the statement very strange. The goal of the tourist Industry is to have too many tourist, then not enough.

I been saying for years the internet. Google any wildlife and observe from you arm chair. It shear stupidity to imprison wildlife in zoos I rather see them open up the prison to observe the array of low life then have zoos to observe the captive animals

Koha: To get to Hakuba prior to the the 1998 Winter Olympics you had to go through Matsumoto and still would if not for the Olympic way from Nagano to Goryu. There be no Happo One and No Gondolas because crowds would prefer Shiga Kogan ski area. Hakuba Valley prior had only a few ski joes for the locals. It was mostly a summer destination for nature enthusiasts. It received little crowds due difficult travel prior to the Olympic way going through. So yes the Hakuba Valley benefited greatly from the Olympics or it would be another old Onsen town

The Winter Olympics are a sort after event and a proven money earner. Sapporo is the perfect city. The crowds that follow often are often repeat visitors. The Winter Olympics made the Nagano Perfecture an international snow destination to this day. I hope the objectors came around because Sapporo will benefit well into the future.

I voted No, I grow up 400km from the coast in a poorly built house with no such luxury of AC. The nearest swimming hole was 16 km around trip in the blazing sun. Summer were endless. Day in and day out over 30c Sunny hot dry days. 60 days in a row in year over 30c 16 of those days were over 35c in a row and 6 days in a row over 40c. Uncomfortable sleeps with only an old fan for relieve. Now I live on the coast. Last summer I used the AC is summer ,maybe 5 days in total. I live in Australia now so I am expect a hotter than usual summer this year but I will be far more comfortable then back growing up on the farm. Due to better tech like AC, insulation, building materials and beach near by.

I assume one gram would overdose a non user. So in theory that is potentially 31 deaths. A sport store owner sell 31 rounds for a AR 15 again potentially 31 deaths. I know if I had a choice of allowing one of the two I know which product I would allow over the other.

Posted in: Nigeria fight back to stun Women's World Cup co-hosts Australia 3-2 See in context

One new source quote 32,000. So they must be fudging the attendance numbers. Do you know the winner of the cup get awarded 150 million. Do you know if come down to a shoot out in the final the goalie and the shooters who misses a goal or the goalie who let that winning one through have done the team out of 150 million Euros. How stupid is that a 150 million dollar shoot out. This is why golden goal after extra time should be played instead of the stupid shoot out. What about the chance of corrupt what can be place on the goalie. The goalie could easy demand 10 million to let the winner one through. It all sink to high heaven.

How miserable was the crowd size ( 50,000 ) for a Matildas game. Very poor showing. You will find that this will be the worst cup ever for attendance. We just don't do soccer well. What were the FIFA thinking. They certainly did no research into awarding the cup to NZ/Australia so there must been a massive under the table payment to sway FIFA and we all know that this does happen, Qatar come to mind.

Posted in: In Japan, which bans dual custody, a table tennis star refuses to hand back her son to her ex See in context

First the child or children are not yours. I see a lot of my kids , my son. in this thread. The fact is it not your child, It our child or our children. Only the child can claim sole connection their mum and dad or Mum and Mum or Dad and Dad. A father or mother can not claim solo connection with their child. Only the child can say my mum or my Dad. To state my child is not acknowaging the other parent. The Child hear you stating this "my child" will take it that you are not acknowaging his or her mother or father and this is concerning and confusing for the child. So be a good parent and always remember to acknowledge the other parent in the child relationship.

Well the opposite has happen to an Australian mother in a joint custody case saw her ex Japanese husband abducted the child and now living in Japan. The Japanese Government refuse to take any action. So this go against this article. 9 In Japan, where child-rearing and homemaking are still viewed as women's tasks, mothers are still considered to be primarily responsible for children. .If this was true the child would be back with their mother in Australia. So Japan Gov what your game?

That nice that he is gay, Which I don't need to know. I hope he represent his sexuality with respect. I will acknowage that gay sexuality dose not not mean you are part of the marxist community. EG One Douglas Murray a known gay intellect who comment on the social problems that is cause by marxist groups like gay pride faction,.stop gas faction, and child abuse cause by transexual marxist attitudes and he refuses to take part with gay faction groups and associate with Marxism. So I assume Atea will represent his sexuality in a non political action the same as heterosexual represent their sexuality.

This was always going to be a be problem for Japan. Allow manufacturing businesses to set up in residential areas. When it come to selling off the business the owner in most case has to sell his home along with the business. If is practice was disallowed 50 years ago and made all manufacturing businesses set up in Industrial zones this would not be a problem.

When I was working in the hospitality industry in Japan I found an underlying social problem developing with ageing women. I notice 99% were homeless ( did not own home ) or live at their parents home when not working or have no safety net only homeless street live or car/ van living. I used bump into this women in her 50:s at Itami hanging out in the Max value car park looking miserable. I ask her if she was good for a feed. I would buy a feed for you. She reply a small sake will do. So for three months every time I went to Maxie,s I would buy a glass of sake for her and sort her out give her her sake and have a joke a laugh with her. I did not even know her name name but just a person out of sort in this growing social problem Japan have with age single women.
