Hahaha, It's an odd question, because it is a fact: Summers are hotter now than when we were all children.

of course. Hell, they're noticeably hotter now than 20 years ago.

yes.before we were younger and more beautiful ,lawn was more greenier and beer was more tasty too...now

Yes because our bodies are used to aircon nowadays, and the carbon emission of aircon makes the city even hotter.

I remeber the summers when i was a child was always outside in the heat of japan and never once did i feel like i was going to die from the heat. It was hot but nothing like today you simply can not be outside all day rollerblading and skateboarding and playing football outside as kids.

My childhood "summers" were in the UK, now they are in Tokyo. So yes.

That’s right. And it’s also an useless discussion because outside of our influence. Even if we would stop everything, industry, CO2 and so on, we still would face the same hot, mild or rainy summers, like during any decade or era before.

Last time I was back in the UK for summer, I felt it was hotter than the summers of my childhood. I can certainly deal with heat a lot better now though. Back then, we’d visit Guangzhou (when it was less developed) every few years, the roads would be shimmering during the day, the air would feel almost solid and I never wanted to be more than two minutes away from a 空调. Fast forward a couple decades, last year I cycled 80km around Izu during the heatwave on a one day round trip, no problem. Only used my air con twice so far this summer.

Rats, hit the No button instead of the yes. Clearly and demonstrably hotter.

Hotter, here in New England? Not really.

What's been getting worse are odd weather patterns we get locked into. For the past several summers, we've either had weeks of nearly daily rain, often heavy (we received 2 months [8"] worth off rain in one day last Saturday, causing lots of flash flooding with roads being washed out), or a summer with almost no rain. We haven't had a balanced summer in a few years. Farmers have lots significant crops to drought or root rot from too much water.

Much hotter. We didn't used to get summers this hot and humid in England.

I remember the summer of 2005 in Japan. One day while in Akihabara I felt like I was dying, and when I saw the public thermometer it said 40°.

Never felt anything like that again.

In Sapporo this summer has actually been mild.

It depends a lot in the location, amd tbh, the global change in temperature is about 1 degree since 1900, so most people shouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Though, cities have gotten way hotter than the average global because of urbanization, including more and more asphalt, less green areas and excess use of air conditioner systems.

Absolutely it is hotter than it was decade ago. I did not imagine such a scorching heat. I would say that getting more than 30 degrees Celsius was an abnormal weather. However, we often say that 30 degrees can be bearable condition nowadays.

without a doubt. growing up in the late 90's to early 2000's, the noontime summer heat was still bearable and you could still walk in the midday sun without hurting your head from the heat. The summer in the past years, especially here in Southeast Asia, had become almost inhuman. During the midday heat, you would hardly see anybody walking in the hottest times of day without some form of protection from the sun. My benchmark would be is how many tough-looking blue collar workers are now using umbrellas to shield themselves from the sun when commuting, there are more using them.

We built a house 15 years ago without air con. People in our town boasted about not needing it, and I'd already managed without it here for eight years.

We have since fitted aircon. Every newbuild here now has it.

I've lived in Tokyo for many years... and if this July we're in does not turn out to be the hottest on record I'd be very surprised. And the air is fairly dry too... you can even see Mt. Fuji, which is rare in the summer.

There was a drought in much of Europe and the UK through the summer of 1976. It broke in autumn, but, as I recall as a hitchhiking tourist, “stand pipes” were used in South Wales and while hiking along Offa’s Dyke I’d see sheep bones here and there.

When I returned the next summer, it was cool and rainy.

Had more than one blistering heat wave when I was growing up. Just as hot as now if not hotter.

By the way, the average world temperature today is about 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

That's a full 50% higher than today's average temps.

And all those hundreds and thousands of scientists talking about man-made climate change are deep in the pocket of Big Straw Hat and Big Sunscreen Lotion, hired by The Rich Elites to evacuate prime real estate on the coastlines. Also, the sun has an average temperature of at least 370 degrees Kelvin, that's almost more than Greece right now, and without any involvment of humans or even the Earth! Wake up, sheeple! (And then go back to bed, it's too hot to do anything.)

According to NASA, the Global temperature has risen by about 1 degree Celcius in the past 100 years. So it looks like summers are indeed hotter - they certainly feel hotter.

Sadly, yes. I loved summers as a child - you could spend all day outside and not drown in your own sweat or feel like you were baking to death. Summers now are abhorrent all over.

I voted No, I grow up 400km from the coast in a poorly built house with no such luxury of AC. The nearest swimming hole was 16 km around trip in the blazing sun. Summer were endless. Day in and day out over 30c Sunny hot dry days. 60 days in a row in year over 30c 16 of those days were over 35c in a row and 6 days in a row over 40c. Uncomfortable sleeps with only an old fan for relieve. Now I live on the coast. Last summer I used the AC is summer ,maybe 5 days in total. I live in Australia now so I am expect a hotter than usual summer this year but I will be far more comfortable then back growing up on the farm. Due to better tech like AC, insulation, building materials and beach near by.

They seem exactly the same to me, however I am 20 kg lighter than I was 20 years ago so that makes a difference in how I feel.
