Well, the money part certainly did happen in that case didn't it.

Start with outlawing porn magazines in the kombinis

It doesn't need outlawing it just needs some common sense and discretion. If a combini I go into with my little girl has an adult mag on low shelves at her height by the checkout or anywhere else as quite a few do, I ask for the store manager and ask them if they think it's appropriate.

tokyo_mToday  12:01 am JST

Harsh reality. Very few people are interested in women's soccer.

Tell that to the 87, 192 fans who packed out Wembley Stadium to watch the final of the Women's Euros last year, breaking all records for the current stadium. (A record that no men's game can ever beat because of the necessity to have physical distance between rival fans in men's matches, something not needed in women's games).

Except that isn't the highest recorded attendance for a football game there.

89,874 Cardiff City vs. Portsmouth, 17 May 2008 Mens FA cup final.

Even if there still is anything in the ancient royal tombs, the government enacted a law denying any access for research/testing purposes even, as the results would make Japanese nationalists heads explode and Koreans roll on the floor laughing.

KniknaknokkaerToday  10:14 am JST

The fact that trucks are even allowed on the inside lane is ridiculous as it slows other drivers down and is just stupidly dangerous when there are 3 trucks blocking all motorway lanes.

Sorry outside lane rather! Seeing as motorway drivers here allergic to the inside lane why don't they just have that as basically a truck lane with the increased speed limit?

Kyoto has a growing problem with rude, uneducated, primitive tourists from all over the world.

Among other new rules to protect public areas and temples from mass tourism , alcohol drinking should become illegal and a fine should be paid for braking public littering and drinking.

Near temples, shrines and all world-heritage areas, “keep quiet “….or SSHHHH signs must be put up in English, Chinese, Tagalog and Vietnamese.

Or they could stop being so greedy trying to cram as many tourists into one place at once and actually create a sustainable tourist model.

Digital forensics of the photograph. It's not rocket science.

Digital forensics take much longer than 10 minutes.

There's plenty of free software out there that can detect manipulated photos, even using that for a start would've helped and given them a good idea to follow up on in more detail. It seems all the police actually did initially was see his name attached to the image and arrest him.

This highlights how shoddy Japans hostage justice system is. How on earth was an arrest warrant issued without simple and basic police investigation??? The poor guy should be compensated for sure and it makes you wonder just how many other innocent peoples lives have been ruined like this.

erm, excuse me, but I can walk to the center in ten minutes actually. So that’s significantly different. In Osaka you can kind far cheaper stuff especially in eateries, oh yeah. I know that for a fact and I’ve been in Japan for over two decades and travelled extensively, you see.

It may be cheap but it's cheap for a reason. My job doesn't even exist in Japan outside of Tokyo and I don't mind that at all, I love it here.......Suginami-ku is a great place to live and raise a family.

There is a demand in Japan for some good quality, domestic produced extra mature cheddar. Not the bland US, NZ Seiji-Ishii stuff. We need good English-style cheddar

Tokyo is great if youre a tourist or short term visa stayer, single no kids.

if your long term , permanent resident with family then not so much,

Disagree. I'm a long term Tokyo resident, married with children and we have a great life here. You just have a to find a part of town that works for you. We have everything we need to hand and lot's we really don't need but it's there anyway. Plenty of cheaper paces to live in Japan yes but my well paid job and my lovely custom built home are all here.

I wish they allowed their architects to be a bit more daring...Tokyo keeps building the least imaginative skyscraper designs. Plain boring.

The problem with Japanese 'town planning' in general is that cities/neighbourhoods end up looking the same. It's not limited to Tokyo at all, it's unimaginative thinking across the whole country.

I'll take Nobeoka here in Miyazaki thank you. Beach 15 min drive to Hyuga. If I want a big city for a few hours Fukuoka is just a 3 hour drive. Gorgeous nature at Takachiho only a 20 min drive. Wild horses at Cape Toi, a 2 hour train trip. Historic castle at Obi, 2 hour drive. Keep Tokyo, thanks.

We have literally everything within easy drive or train from central Tokyo as well. We have countryside and mountains in Tokyo too y'know.....

Amazing!!..

Tokyo keep growing as one of the best cities to live in the world..

GO TOKYO!!.. Coolest and frikiest city of the world!!..

Clearly this person hasn’t travelled much globally or even in Japan! Tokyo is the most overrated city in the world! Overpriced, nothing spectacular, copied architecture from other area, overcrowded to the max, impossible to get a decent restaurant reservation on any given Friday, Saturday or even Sunday, lack of 24 hours supermarket

Clearly you don't know Tokyo.
