Yesterday I went to Muji and they had fresh Fukushima peaches stand that you could try for free.

No Japanese person tried it, only unaware foreigners.

The release of water shouldn't even start.

You pay 13 times for something that has face value 1000 Yen?

No, its just show how YEN depreciated with all that BOJ printing.

Some 72.6 percent of companies in the hotel industry said they do not have enough full-time workers, much higher than the 51.4 percent for all sectors.

They don't have enough full-time workers? No way, no one wants to work for 150 000 yen anymore? I cant believe it's true.

I think Japan should demand Sahalin back from Russia. I think citizens that currently live there would prefer to join Japan instead of living in Putin regime.

Posted in: Japan's smoking rates continue to decline for men, women in 2022 See in context

It's just a survey. Many people for the purpose of the survey say they don't smoke.

In this country there is no gambling and prostitution is illegal, however, we have pachinko and soap lands.

Ask yourself the question, why there are very few NON SMOKING mansions?

I had and still have so many problems with balcony smokers, parking smokers, passerby smokers, truck driver smokers like literally can recognize that this survey is based on wrong or biased numbers.

Russians have Soviet technology that is mastered to perfection. The only space station that is currently operating is actually a Soviet one that is shared with westerners.

I wouldn't be surprised that Soviets will land on the moons soon and establish their first station there.

Little to remaind they landed on Venus as well.

Don't worry I'm more than sure that the government will step in soon and raise taxes to fund this museum.

Doesn't matter that it was managed in a poor way as many other Japanese companies.

Heard this story too many times in so-called safe "Japan"

The only thing that is different now is that the stabbing was on a Korean girl.

I expect that with the deteriorating economy, more accidents against foreigners will happen.

Stay safe and watch your surroundings.

Posted in: Japanese life expectancy falls in 2022 for 2nd straight year See in context

This trend is going to continue.

Unfortunately food quality in Japan is decreasing due to the higher inflation and stagnant salaries people have less money so they can afford less healthy food (less fruits more processed food). Moreover, it is also about cheap, processed food being imported to Japan from overseas.

Go to any supermarket and check where most of the products originated from, cheap chicken - Brazil 2kg 800 yen frozen, beef and pork from America, low 3rd quality a lot of hormones and preservatives of course you can get better one but it cost more.

Not to mention here a lot of Chinese cheap food products that might have an unknown effect on your health and body - honey, fish (frozen), asari, etc.

That has a great influence on the Japanese and they get more and more cancers every year due to eating this toxic food.

Not even mention Fukushima and products from there that are silently added into the food chain and being discounted like peaches, one full box of peaches 8-10 pieces for 1000 yen, why so cheap for such an oishii product? Does no one dare to ask? Maybe same with Japanese fresh chicken, why all of the sudden there is no place of origin on the regular chicken? before prefecture was mention on the label, now it just says "domestic product"

You guys eat healthy and stay aware.

At least she was honest and said she didn't have money to cover for funeral.

However I would check if she was using her pension after her mom passed away.

I also think funeral is one thing but maybe she didn't have cash to cover for inheritance tax if the apartment was her mom.

Is there anyone beside Africa and some 3rd world countries that listen to Mr. Xi and China?

Their economy is being choked by the US sanctions, most of the foreign factories are moving out.

No want wants more cheap Chinese products anymore, they have nothing to offer.

Mr. Xi is on the verge and the only option he has left on the table is to start a WAR ans take Taiwan. That is the reason he is talking about long range missiles etc.

What a pity the US, Japan and other countries will have to stop this guy instead of his own people.

How about spending it on stabilizing the value of the YEN so it can stop depreciate and people wouldn't have to pay more for products?

Anyway what I think the government will choose is to raise taxes and spend surplus lavishly.

No surprise there. The government is promising people points if they keep AC off or if you they use it in some ridiculous range of 28 C or above.

Of course trust experts from TV, newspapers or from the government like with Fukushima etc.

Each and every of us has different tolerance to high temperatures and it depends from many factors.

I keep my AC on 21 day and night, I don't need the government points I can pay bills myself and have comfortable summer. However I'm annoyed of the fact that so many people are being lured by the government and risk their life.
