If AI is able to create movies using images of deceased actors, would you watch such films?

They'd have to be really good, so not a snowball's chance in hell, I would say.

Let them rest I say. Only creeps would like to see something like this.

Maybe, or let’s say highly probable. Movies exist for more than hundred years already. Many if not even most of all conventional movies too, therefore more and more contain pictures of already deceased actors, don’t they? It’s not a criteria, if in a movie a deceased actor appears. Some older ones even contain only and completely of deceased actors.

I usually watch a movie for the story. I rarely go to a movie just to see a particular actor. So, yeah, maybe, if the story was interesting.

No, I don't want to see a future where young actors and actresses are pressured into signing over their image for hundreds of years.

Let them rest in peace.

Plus, God only knows what sort of trash Hollywood would make using images & voices from the actors & actresses who made such great films in the past.

That would horribly sully their memory.

I'd watch it, but I'm conflicted about the people who exploited those deceased actors to get profits.

Intellectual Property goes public after a while and anyone can use it, but that Greedysney company has been renewing its mice and ducks IP since forever. They make profit from Hans Anderson's story, and yet will not allow others to make profit from it's own IP.

But, if we learned anything from history, I bet that companies will be buying rights to make movies from deceased actors starting within the decade.

What a freak show Hollywood would make out of actor's. Hollywood hasn't made good movies in years, so it is likely they would trash an actor's body of work. Clark Gable as Spiderman? It would probably be something like that. Let it be. Even is Hollywood lost its mind and made a movie with a good story, it would still be a ghoulish movie.

But why? Feels like a weird decision to make in the first place.

This would be worse than Ted Turner colorizing a lot of the old classics. Leave things they way they are and stop messing with things that don't need to be messed with. What's next? Are they going to take images of Jesus Christ, Mona Lisa, Stalin or Hitler and have them starring in movies too? Terrible idea but I can envision even those on the horizon. Scary.

The problem is, when Trump wins next year, he will have no one left to complain to and he will be walking the streets talking to either himself or the pavement.

No.

But I never watch movies anyway.

Distasteful in my humble opinion so no.

insane idea! please have some respect.

As nothing is sacred anymore, sure.

What would be the point of watching such monstrosity? It is the actors individual ability that is important in a real movie. I don't want to watch some AI generated crap!!!!

If the movie was planned for them to appear when they died untimely deaths, and if it is only for cameos or small roles, then while I wouldn't be going to see it for that reason, I also would not object to it. However, if they start making new movies starring dead actors in lead roles, I absolutely will not go to so see it, same as I wouldn't go to a holographic Michael Jackson concert or the like.

Let me guess, they’re sending out feelers to measure the reaction, when no actor wants to, or just greedy producers, make another Batman or Superman movie and they wanna plug in Christopher Reeves and Adam West.

Hollywood entertainment Industry is out of control, toxic, promote child abuse and harbour and protects child sex abuse and just low life creeps. Wienstein, Epstein, Polanski, and they are not Catholic Priest. How can any human view and enjoy Hollywood product escapes normal decent thought.

This is like those hologram concerts that companies are touting. It's creepy.

They've already been doing it with CGI, so what's the problem? Look at the Fast and Furious series. Or "Wild Speed" as they call it here.

It is not distasteful to show tribute to someone who made a series what it might be today. A small cameo from a legend cementing their place in a world or universe is no problem. Everyone is overreacting.

Even if this does start to happen, there will never be a new full length Bruce Lee movie, or Airplane 3 featuring Leslie Nielson. When an actor is that old and dies, anything more than a cameo would just be awkward and only appeal to seniors anyway. Has anyone watched a recent Clint Eastwood movie? I felt like I could tell which scenes he was filling his diaper. Trust me when I say no one wants a new young Clint movie.

If the tech was there they would prolly have done it with the fast and furious series.

I weaseled out with "maybe" because while I don't really like the idea, I could see there being circumstances in which it would be okay.

I would not mind seeing a multiverse version of the James Bond franchise with all the Bond actors together in their prime.
